they were off with their forward efficiency tonight But with lynch and Riewoldt kicking 2 each, clunking key marks, and usually good for 2 each they find enough to win games.

we lack that Consistent output from players in our forward line.

They've been doing this sorta stuff since Leppitsch arrived and he and Dimma got their backline up to speed. They use so many dirty tactics (see the "Dusty pushing his man into a pack" stuff) that umpires just aren't attuned to. I've been saying for years that these gutless tactics are gonna get someone a busted neck....but they just keep doing it. AND getting away with it.

100%. Not sure I want the game to go all the way back to the roughness of the 70s and 80s, but blokes can't just do this without repercussion. Imagine punching someone in the street and then knowing they can't do anything retaliatory
 
What one can take away from the game is that the Sun is rising on the Gold Coast, one of the best lists in the competition that I'd like to support moving forward. Lukosius, Rankine, King, Anderson, Rowell to name a few, that's going to be one hell of a side.

It's gone from the worst side in the comp to watch to about the best in a very short time.

King & Rankine are great up forward. Would've loved one of the King boys!

Hopefully they can stay healthy (although never enough to beat us in a final)

beneficiary of top picks and finally getting it right. They’ve stuffed it for a long time but have the balance right now of great top picks and handy mature players from other clubs.

Under Buckley, we won’t be willing to accept we don’t have a good enough squad to win/ have sustained success He’s to stubborn to admit his gameplan is horrible or to play and develop kids.

geeze I hope we get some good news via the draft this year

It's amazing how fast it changes. Tom Lynch is old news. We need to find the next King's or Naughton, and yes we missed out on Naughton with pick 6 - Stephenson. Stephenson is still one of the best in his class, but Naughton is oh boy. And word was we were right into him too.

I like Stephenson more than Naughton, but I agree that we could do with someone like him. One of those rangy mobile forwards

Just as well Leigh Brown's retired cos these Tiggy Bullies would be pretty sore by now! Can you imaging someone trying this stuff on Brereton or Matthews, on Rhys or Banksy? Robby Muir would have decked a few by now! And don't get me started how Ablett or Plugger would have gone if they'd had defenders hanging all over them or tunnelling them.

Typical Dimma....start it and run.
 
I was watching a video on FoxSports with Robbo and Gerald talking about Lynch. Had a list of all the Tiger players who have been fined/suspended. Had about 8 fines for striking. Nice cracking down on players getting punched in the stomach. Not to mention Riewoldt has been done 3 times, Lynch 3 times and Dustin 2 times.

And yet there they are winning premierships and being successful. Maybe we need to adopt a more aggressive mindset instead of being meek pushovers?
