I've turned to the Cannington Greyhounds im that shattered! Can't think straight what we going to do with the performance tonight???

Re: Changes?

Give Webbers a crack for starters. Kid has a go and from what I have heard has played well in the 2's. Miller was horrible tonight but I think the fact he was played in those conditions was just as horrible from the coaching staff, that being said his failure to convert is likely to cost him a spot. Helbig could probably do with a break, has had a taste and has a few things like disposal to work on.

In: Webberley, Post/Astbury, Edwards if ready
Out: Miller, Helbig, Farmer(started well but I don't see anything there)

Re: Changes?

We don't play for two weeks so it's too early to say. Plus there's another Coburg game to come. You would have to say White, Browne, Helbig and Miller would be under the pump, particularly if Angus, Hislop, Webbs and Griff have good games next week.

Coburg have a bye. Total week of for all the boys. (that sucks, unless the Tiges requested it)

Re: Changes?

Out: Helbig , Browne, Farmer
In: Graham, Webberly, Hislop/Gourdis

Helbig stuffed anything he touched tonight, missed 2 easy snaps, poor skills.
Browne looks more aggressive than graham in ruck but that's it, Graham does more around ground, can take marks kicks okay and he Tackles!!

Farmer was rubbish, I'd replace him with Hislop but we may need 3rd tall defender, I'd go with Gourdis.

For the Miller haters, he wasn't that bad missed an easy goal but so did a lot of our guys, he spilled a couple of difficult chances. Rubbish delivery .

Nothing wrong with our forward line, it's our backline and midfield pressure that needs work, our mids are getting killed at contested ball.

WTF is with not starting tuck, as soon as he comes into it we play better and win more ball

And FFS I hope tonight puts argument to the lids game, no good on wing, he either needs to play in the guts or flanker at either end. I think we need him down in our back half because tonight it was woefull

Houli was a mile ahead of anyone including Foley skill wise tonight. But we need to use the ball better coming out of half back

I'd much prefer Batch/Rance and Mcgaune playing pure defensive and leave the rebounding to Lids/Newman/Houli , tonight everything down back was left to Houli to mop up.

Feel sorry for McGaune, thought he played defensively well and will be the first one to get ripped to shreds on here.

Batch on Westhoff was a miss match, why not send Miller down back or even Jack to get him into game and sub off Helbig

Helbig and Farmer where 2 of our biggest problems tonight , should have been one of them subbed out.

Re: Changes?

One change that shouldn’t be made is Gus for Browne. Going by Dimmas 4 week blocks, Browne should at minimum get the Swans and Lions game even though he was poor and Gus BOG.

If Browne has reasonable games against them, he should then get another 4 and then a decision made on who is our number one ruck.

Re: Changes?

Way to early for the changes thread, but I'll give it a go anyway...
Out: Browne, Farmer, Helbig, McGuane, Miller
In: Graham, Hislop, Webberley, Gourdis, Post

Re: Changes?

Out
Helbig - needs to work on disposal under pressure, a get a little more confidence in his game.
Miller - would prefer to see Ben Griffiths in, doesnt seem to do enough defensively. Few more marks and goals would be nice.
Rance - Too many costly errors in defence, goes to ground too often. doubt he would be in the side if Moore and Grimes were fit.
Farmer - just cant see where he fits into the team. not a lot going for him in defence or attack and no room in the midfield. poor disposal means turnovers and turnovers mean goals against.
Browne - would like to see the guy play a few more games but we need to win a few as well.

In
Webberley - has been in the best most weeks for coburg and deserves a chance, looked pretty good in games last yr.
Griffiths - if up to AFL level get him back in, if not get Post back in for another go but this time as a forward.
Gourdis - guy deserves another go instead of just playing 2's all year. why not see if he can stop a few goals each week and lower oppostions scoring a bit.
Edwards - if fit, at least has a little bit of defensive quality
Graham - showed a bit for coburg on the weekend. got around the ground and provided an option, crashed a couple of packs (knocked 2 of our guys down but at least showed he can do it.

__________________________________________

The delivery wasn't good but the forward line was a major problem.
There was ZERO forward pressure.
King was off, Roo played his worst game in a long time. Miller looked like a 40 year old.

They didn't chase, tackle so the ball come out of there far too easily like a ping pong ball.

Added to that the decision making, quick snaps and accuracy was that of a bottom 4 side.

The backline was just OK. They tried hard considering their limitations.
Farmer is rubbish, McGuanne is a goof, Newman was average and Batchelor got pantsed by a taller opponent, but for the most part they did OK. Houli held it together down there.

Re: Changes?

Everyone underperformed - not convinced mass changes are appropriate.

If Hislop is elevated I'd like to see him get a run. Also Edwards if deemed fit.

In: Hislop , Edwards
Out: Tuck, Farmer

Re: Changes?

I'm watching the replay now and I reckon Helbig has cost us between 4-5 goals. Just a terrible terrible game, send him to Coburg for a fair while.

Miller and Browne were also very poor.

Very few good players tonight.

Re: Changes?

No way Browne should be dropped. Webberley and Post should have played instead of Miller and Helbig. I don't like having Grigg in the team while Tuck and Jacko are there either.

Out: miller, helbig, grigg
In: post, webberley, astbury

Re: Changes?

Out: Browne, Helbig, Farmer
In: Gus, Hislop (time to upgrade the beast), Webberley

Gus - BOG for Coburg, but mainly due to the fact that the opposing ruckman was an american
Hislop - I don't know if he's injured but he's been in the Best for 3 or 4 straight weeks, seems to have improved his disposal use and is probably the best replacement for Helbig
Webberley - Should put him on the wing to replace Deledio and put him down back since we have lost Grimes

Sidenote:
If Riewoldt does stupid crap like taking speckies when he knows he can't with the ball being too slippery i want him dropped.

Re: Changes?

In hindsight Astbury or Gourdis should have come in to replace Grimes , we replaced Post and Grimes with Miller and White .
It's all about balance, 3 able to play on tall forwards and 3 tall forwards , without that balance we suck and have done for some time !
Had Goo or Astbury come in for Frimes I suspect we would have seen a different result .
Get back to balance
Out : Helbig, Tuck and Miller(kicking for goal is killing us)
In : Goo/ Astbury , Edwards( provides more run ) and Griffith( if ready ) , the bowl taggers over at any opportunity attitude .

Re: Changes?

Out:
Miller - done his job and provided us with structure, need to turn to youth.
Helbig - played 7 of 10 and has had a taste, needs to go back and work on a few things.

In:
Griffiths/Post - bring one of them in and start working on the structure we want to play with kids who could be long term options.
Webberley - has performed at Coburg all season. Needs to be rewarded.

Re: Changes?

Despite a pretty pathetic effort.... no need for hysteria. Put it on most of them to redeem themselves against the Swans, a side that regularly smack us up there.

For me: Helbig has to be dropped, ball handling was terrible, must have cost us multiple goals. Edwards in if he's ok, if not then Webberley.

Miller dropped: Just didn't have a great night. Post or big Griff if he's ok for me.

Farmer: borderline.... would want to train pretty strongly.

I would not drop Browne... He had a really good game against Essendon and a poor one against Brogan but deserves more games as Gus did. It will do Gus no harm to try and keep dominating at VFL level for another week or 2.

LOL - when they kicked away in the 3rd quarter, i logged on my TAB account and starting punting. Was lucky i picked up the daily double and a flexi first 4 on Globe Derby trots.

So a couple of $ to help me cope with the stress of the worst game of park footy iv'e seen.

Griffiths or post for miller I would not do that.
But webberly need him back

Re: Changes?

Out-
Miller- IMO we won't play finals. I have seen enough from Vickery to suggest he is a strong enough foil Jack. Need to develop Big Ben.

Farmer- What exactly does he bring to the team? Too slow, poor kick. He and Bach play the same role but Bachar looks a million times better.

Helbig- I don't like ripping into young guys but everything he did last night turned to poo. Had his taste and will be better for it but now it's time to earn a spot.

In-
Griffiths- His out put won't be any worse then what we saw of Miller. Will have played a half dozen games at Coburg by then and deserves his spot

Webberly- Should have been in before farmer, but will get his chance now.

Edwards- Simply better then Helbig. If he isn't right, then Hislop in

I would also think about bringing in Astbury for Grigg or Batchelor purely for structure. Lmao at how much we miss Grimes
