I just don’t buy that at all, and that’s just an excuse to make us feel better now about a performance that just wasn’t good enough.

We ARE good enough to win the cup. Anyone in the top 4 is. Freo and Sydney are not unbeatable, and Freo only beat us in the final 5 minutes.

But accuracy is not a light switch. It requires painful repetition, hard work and sacrifice - and it feels like that is being lost on some who seem to think they are better than they are right now, in the squad.

Comparing our teams accuracy, to that of Wiz in his first year - who was just suffering from nerves - is not a good faith comparison, and again, hides a real deficiency in this side.

I remember listening to Hoyne on Champion Data bemoan for years that the Demons were doing everything right - except their accuracy in front of goal was abysmal…for years. It killed any finals campaign.

We need to stamp out this rut quick, or it does eventually kill a finals push - regardless of whether you believe we’re a chance this year, next year or 2030

The frustrating thing is we have probably one of the best set shot for goals in the modern game in Gunners at the club.

How could we not be tapping into that knowledge base and getting Uncle Jack to run goal kicking clinics?

This issue has been hurting us for years now and frustratingly we don't seem to be getting better at it.

Goal kicking was a joke and some of the stupid handballs and shit but my god the umps gave them a 20 minute head start on the 2nd half. Never seen a more brazen evening up of Friday night football, umps made sure it lived at their end and really played them back into it.

The most annoying thing that was so incredibly obvious was every time a hawk took a mark the opponent would ride them to the ground or hold up play in some way, that should be 50m every time but the umps just let them get away with it all night, much like they let them get away with throwing the ball in the 2016 finals series.

I counted at least 4 blatant 50s against us that the umps turned a blind eye to.

They have. Issue isnt the set shot itself anymore, its the ball drop. Theres no consistency from any of the forwards. They either drop it too far out so theyre pushing at it,l. They drop it too high so theyre kicking under not through, or theyre dropping the ball too central, or too lateral.
Fix the ball drop, fix the kick

One person I’m not blaming is Sammy. In some of the media, it’s obvious he’s trying to drill this into the side - I remember a few weeks ago he was telling them about golf pin mindset aka don’t aim for the green, aim for the pin.

His presser tonight shows he’s trying everything, but it’s the fact it’s still affecting our games + how our side cannot handle momentum shifts, consistently, that is concerning.

Still plenty of games to play out, but we need more growth out of our younger players I feel and more polish worked into their games to do justice to the excellent turnover game theyre playing.

I will say, now that I’ve cooled down, one thing that makes me happy is seeing Will Day play out a full game and do a great job on the field. God he makes us so much better

Been an issue all year sometims okay but does terrible things at times. I think the co captains was a soft demotion to avoid headlines but he won't be captain next year. I thought last week he finally turned a corner, just happened to be playing on a spud in a poor team. Same as his good game against Essendon.

Anyone suggesting he’s in AA form is kidding themselves, I found it so funny the media said he was having a great season during the week. I love Sis and I wasn’t completely locked into it all tonight as I was out and watching on tv at a brewery but his physicality has been local footy level at best, he doesn’t want to hurt himself - can’t get away with that as a leader - I understand his excuses but it’s not good enough
