Impressed with Baldwin.

Seems to kick 2-3 per week at VFL level without totally dominating. A couple more pre seasons and he will be a beast.
He was great in the air - especially in that last quater.
Cutler, Stewart, Rasinac, Bernacki, Stewart, Bryan, Atley, Langford all looked pretty good

Would say that was the strongest VFL side we have put on the park this year so it was good they got a good win. They where clearly out of gas late with 3 players off and others playing limited game time due to first games back.
Played a lot of good quick footy most of the day. Having players back and a few of the VFL players getting onto the pace of things is helping.

Langford - he was good first game back. Played mainly midfield and was quickly on the pace of the game. Good first game back.

Francis - not a lot to see here . Started forward and did not do much. Almost took a few marks. Forward pressure non existent. Went back later on but hit the ground hard in a contest and did not come back on.

Snelling - did not play early. Did most of his work in the second half. Did a few good things and made a few tackles. Got some midfield time. Nothing super exciting but got some miles in the legs first up. Got involved when he was needed.

Cutler - best on ground for mine. His work rate was great. Ran to all parts of the ground. Defended . Spread from the contest .

Stewart - had a bit more of a battle on his hands this week as they played him pretty tight. Still kicked his 3 goals and worked hard up the ground. Did not see why he did not play the last quarter.

Bryan - was good enough but Campbell gave him a lot of trouble today. Still took a few good marks around the ground but he was beaten overall.

Baldwin - worked really hard. Second efforts where good. Took some good marks. Kicked his 3 goals. Never out of the game.

Lord - looked good when he backed himself to run with the footy. Just does not look physically ready to impose himself on / into the game often enough

BZK - Not as good as last week but still one of our better players.

Reid - Looked a bit patchy. Took some good intercept marks but also got caught out on quicker opponents a few times. Looked like he rolled an ankle and did not come back on.

Eyre - okay defensively. Couple of howlers by foot. Actually held some marks down back today.

McDonagh - not the worst. Played a bit of wing. Made a few mistakes but also did a few good things.

Brand - not the same attacking game he was able to produce last week. Had a bit more defending to do and sometimes that was on smaller players.

Voss - kicked 2 goals and as usual he was pretty physical. Gets a pass first game back.

McBride - not in the best but still did some good work in the back half although he did drop a couple of marks he should have eaten up.

Waterman - just okay.

Menzie - looks to still be learning how to fit our system or in some cases lack of system. He has pace and he took a couple of good marks on the lead as well. Kicked 2.2 . Maybe not as much tackling pressure as I would like to see but he does a few things that keep you interested.

Hird - struggled to get into the game today.

Bernacki and Rasinac have been giving us the midfield grunt we lacked a bit of previously. They have made a big difference in the last 3 weeks. Strong bodies who do not get thrown out of the way easily.
Atley did what he does pretty much every week. Strong at the footy.

Windhager looks a real player.

It's not very often you see a player continually burst through congestion and stoppages.

He must have done it 6 times against us. He's one to watch. Not much polish but the combination of inside midfield craft and the power and speed to break through players is rare.

Isn't the bolded Paddy Dow?

Finally managed to get around to the replay. My thoughts:

#4 Kyle Langford: Surprised he only had 20 touches, but everything he touched was quality. Would have played ~85% TOG and for me looks very likely to come back into the seniors for his 100th game this week.

#10 Aaron Francis: Was invisible honestly. Did he get injured? There was no mention on the broadcast and I didn't see it happen either.

#11 Will Snelling: Did some nice things, worked his way into the game after QT. Played probably around 65% TOG.

#12 Tom Cutler: Is obviously very good at this level but not good enough at the level above. Was excellent off half back/wing for the most part.

#17 James Stewart: Really good in the first half but didn't do as much in the second half, still think we should seriously look at swapping him and Phillips for West Coast.

#24 Nick Bryan: Was good without being dominant, which is fine because Campbell is a good ruck/forward at this level of football.

#26 Kaine Baldwin: Big time player. Stepped up when we needed him to and I think he'll be best 22 by the start of next year. Jones, Baldwin, Wright and Stringer could be really dangerous.

#28 Alastair Lord: Has improved out of sight the past couple of games, might have gotten a lot more confidence in himself to take the game on. Keep it going.

#30 Brandon Zerk-Thatcher: Appeared to have rolled his ankle in the second half but was good without being dominant, Sandy key forwards didn't really do anything.

#31 Zach Reid: Looks a class above at this level. Didn't play the last quarter so might have had a niggle of some sort.

#32 Josh Eyre: Looks better in defence. Did shank a couple but also had some really good play.

#36 Garrett McDonagh: Honestly thought it was his best game for us so far. Didn't have it heaps but used his bullet to set up multiple attacking forays and had a great goal as well.

#38 Cody Brand: Good defensively but didn't really get much of the ball so eh.

#39 Patrick Voss: Dead eye. Physical, he definitely has something there as a forward.

#41 Cian McBride: Had a few nice intercepts but otherwise nothing special. Games like this can happen at his age though.

#45 Alec Waterman: Average game, took too long to dispose of the ball a few times. Writings on the wall for me unfortunately.

#47 Jye Menzie: Had his goals from a different avenue this time. Obviously has some tricks, can see him playing the last 3-4 games of the year.

#49 Tom Hird: Looked busy and kicked a very nice goal. Would love to see a debut at some point soon.

Bernacki was one of our best, same with Rasinac as far as the VFL boys go.
