I didn't watch the VFL but McKenzie with 28 possessions and a goal surely couldn't have been too much worse than Hustwaite and he is the much better AFL player as well in my opinion
It’s unlikely that either will get the call up, but HH was the standout. And given a DECENT run at it will prove the doubters wrong.

Got involved but from what I saw had some really bad moments that were costly.

Had it a bit but had some pretty bad turnovers that cost is. Just was the much better player on the day.

Did anyone notice DAmbrossio tagging the Bont? Stole a mark off him as well. Great way to shake a tag by being a tagger! Interesting to see who he gets this Friday! ??

It seemed like Ward stood him a couple of times as well, it was interesting to see the shorter, quicker players on him.

The question though, was it just the way the game was at those moments, with someone needing to be next to him - or was it a tactic to combat him?

Mass' mark over him was next level though, great highlight for our star in the making there!

Ramsden plays, not for the individual but for the forward structure we’re shifting towards.

Chol, Ramsden & Gunston will hopefully become Chol, Lewis & Dear by end of the season, or whoever is in best form.
That’s right, there’s a spot for the taking if any of Ramsden/Dear/Lewis/Scaife/McCabe are reading this.

Agree with this. Are we playing Max for our team to get ready for Mitchy Lewis? Gunston having a great year but I reckon it will be Chol, Lewis and Dear by the end of the year

Biggest game of the season for us a genuine 8 point game in the race for a top 4 chance.

Exciting times to see weeks next to Lewis and Daisy name!

selection mix -> Whiz,Scrimshaw, Dear

The ins from last week should all hold their spots.

Prioritise Weddle at CHB, if TB is the FB the rest of the tall magnets fall around Weddle. Don't mess with the balance!

M. Ramsden stays in to at least the bye preferably till Lewis is back. Gives Meek and Chol big chop out's in the area. Both had huge games and we get to see max potential with a string of games.

If all goes to plan and people pass their fitness tests.

IN
Jack Scrimshaw, Nick Watson
OUT
Changkuoth Jiath, Finn Maginness

BACKLINE
Hardwick - Barrass - Battle
Impey - Scrimshaw - Amon

MIDFIELD
D’Ambrosio - Ward - Butler
Meek - Newcombe - Worpel

FORWARDLINE
Moore - Gunston - MacDonald
Ginnivan - Chol - Watson

INTERCHANGE
Ramsden - Nash - Weddle - Mitchell - Morrison

I am unsure of who could be the right sub candidate. Those who are a chance for it would be Morrison, Mitchell or Butler.

I believe Scrimshaw may miss this week however, Jiath sub and only Watson for Maginness.

Edit:

Key matchups

DEF -
Barrass > Thilthorpe
Battle > Fogarty
Scrimshaw > Tex

When either are forward
Hardwick/Seamus/Impey > Rankine / Rachele

Keays > Amon

MID -
Nash > Dawson (at stoppage)
H2H otherwise, Meek v ROB important.

FWD -
Butts > Ramsden
Worrell > Gunston
Keane > Chol

Michalanney > Watson
Laird > Moore
Milera > Ginnivan
Hinge > MacDonald

Spot on!! Ramsden setting the structure for Lewis' return, Gunston has gone off his tucker the last couple of weeks & is looking slow wouldnt be surprised if Calsher takes his spot soon,
Wiz in
Finn out
only change i can see this week
feel like they'll give Scrim one more week off into the bye hes had a interrupted season let him rest up & launch into the second half of the season

Morrison is not a candidate for the Sub. He set the tone early for us last week. He is a starting wingman and our most in form one currently.

Sounds like Worpel won’t play, runners and a limp at training this morning.
If Worps doesn't get up it will be out of MacKenzie or Hustwaite to replace him. I would love to see MacKenzie come back in and play well, it seams a shame he hasn't yet played to his full potential.

Cam Mac is a future star. He has excellent agility and game awareness, along with decent pace which will only
improve. Imo he'll show he's got all the weapons to be an elite AFL Midfielder. I'm guessing most on big footy Hawks would agree. Looks like his hand shook his confidence a little.
This is why I'm currently so happy Ward has both the skill and "what it takes" to succeed.
Essentially we have genuine confidence our mids can grow into elite mids.

Worps is excellent but I struggle to call him elite. (He certainly has games where he's elite) Definitely don't want to lose him unless we have something seriously cooking. Also I think Nash is still learning and I hope he gets even better.
In the back of my mind there is Mr Nick Watson. I would love to see him in the guts more often. Like Boomer Harvey. At his pace it's genuinely difficult to legally tackle him.
Also Nick doesn't duck. He angles his body fwd to accelerate quickly. My guess is opponents will be extra careful tackling him which should help him evade....
From a team dynamic I think it could prove electric. He's too good to isolate in a fwd pocket all game. I'd love to check out Boomers development in the early yrs.

Cam Mackenzie will eventually be a better player than HH, but at the moment we need our absolute best available 23, this is a classic 8 point game.
Anyone who saw last week's BHH game would agree HH looked a lot better than Cam in the middle, more aggressive and far cleaner with his hands. I wouldn't be upset if Mackenzie was picked to replace Worpel, but I'd be expecting they will prefer HH for this game (which will undoubtedly be won or lost in the middle)
