Positives first:
Andrew foster- great game, quick and skillfull
Aaron Sandilands- Unbelievably good game, looks great as a forward too
Paul Hasleby- racked up the touches
Youngsters- I thought suban, hill, broughton and to a lesser extent can hold their heads up high.
Des Headland- im not a fan of his, but he led the way today and along with sandi and peake was the only player who really looked threatening although fossie got two goals
duffield- another great game, he will be right up ther in the B&F

Negatives
Pavlich- looks like we will be without our best player for atleast 4 weeks, horrible for our club
Lack of fight- a ten goal last quarter to the pies smacked of a lack of guts, yes we had injuries and the pies are classier, but gee we really needed to offer more than that
Grover- finished
mcpharlin forward- doesnt work, must be left at CHB forever
Ballantyne- bit harsh on him maybe, but i think it was a mistake to play him straight up without a couple of wafl games, doesnt look fit, seemed a bit overawed
middle tier- as always they let us down, ibbotson got a lot of the ball, but made some horrible errors, schammer did nothing, mundy was deplorable, dodd was horrible until he got knocked out, thornton was average... just a crap performance

All i wanted was to fight the game out and see something from the kids, really disappointed.... guys at work must think im a real dikc :( i wanted to smash the work tv :o

Negatives:

84 points. :(
I thought Ibbo had a shocker today.
Pav injured. :thumbsd:

Positives:

Duffield, Foster.
Only 9 weeks left this season. :o

Positives - We will almost certainly win next week . Lets face it it takes a humilation or a game against the eagles to motivate us to play 4 quarters . I think this performance meets the humiliation criteria.

Negatives - we are shit

we are playing carlton next week and we will get pumped

+ve Peake played a good game

-ve I don't agree about Hase. Just a bit too lazy for me.
O'Bree outran him a couple of times.
He'll get an extension, but he wouldn't if I was Rosich!!

hase has been one of our few good players this year. he might ask for a trade anyway, but we would want to keep one of our few winning midfielders

Despite a horrible loss, this season was already over before a ball was bounced today. It was a thrashing yes, but there were some highlights.

Duffield is continuing on his merry was with great form. Aaron Sandilands...fantastic. Not much more he could have done. Fosters best game by a long shot.

A few factors that didnt seem quite right this week -

A lot of our structures seemed 'wrong' to me. I think the coaching staff weren't prepared enough. Last week was a very physical game and I reckon the players weren't recovered enough. We just kept going goal for goal until Pav/Dodd went off and then seemed to tire very VERY fast.

Ballantyne - disappointing debut.... seemed very nervous. I reckon he will be right though, a game at home next week will do wonders for him.

Pav will be out for how long? Will the tank be on? Lets hope not.

Dont agree about Haselby. Just think he is bloody slow...has a couple of invisible anchors tied to his feet.

Our clearance work was ok, until we had 22 players ! Thanks to Sandi obviously. I just wouldn't call Hase a positive that's all !!

fair enough, but i certainly wouldnt call him a negative either, i just think if we are going to delist a whole stack of players, hasleby wouldnt be in that list

i dont know what it is, but i have the feeling that hase will ask for a trade anyway, i reckon he will want success before he retires, anmd he isnt going to get that with us.... wouldnt think we would be offered anything for him though

Ballantyne isnt as quick as he thinks he is. Thats what made his debut disappointing. Its gonna take him 10-20 games till he realises this and gets rid of the ball a bit quicker.

Id say your main positives were Zach Clarkes game. Thought what he did he did well. Foster is improving in alot of his weaknesses ie. marking as of late and can be a AFL player.

Positives

Two more debutants
Foster is stepping up really well
Some great clearance work at the start of the game from Hill and Suban on a couple of occasions. Seeing those to work together in the clinches got me pretty excited
Clearances generally are improving - 38 to 32 in the Pies favour but I think that is biased by the last quarter
Fight back in the second quarter
Sandi
Duff
Headland forward
McPharlin back - hopefully he is left there cause he looked so much better once he moved back
Peake running

Negatives

Getting thrashed
Insipid first quarter
Gave up in the last quarter
Skills woeful frequently
Forward structure - what structure?
Lack of run
Pav's injury
Grover - glad he made 150 and I love the guy, but he's finished

The worst part was being really excited before the game - I wasn't really expecting a win but I thought we were a chance and expected a good contest. Even in the third quarter I was thinking on a couple of occasion 'We could pinch this"... and then it turned to shite :(

If he doesnt realise this after todays game....then i would be worried.

Positives - The experience

negatives - The blowout factor

Positives: Being thrashed, we deserved it and I think it is a good lesson. I have had enough of the honorable loses. Our first quarter was so shit and embarrassing that I would of been embarrassed if we lost by 20 points in the end. I hope we get angry about this and make amends next week much like the Sydney game.

Negatives: We had to watch it :-)

Positives:
Sandi, Foster [played well today], Duff, Peake [responding well after being disciplined], Des [got through the game without injury], and having Swan and Didak in my SC ;)

Negatives:

The trashing, first and last quarter, McPharlin and Mundy being gutless, Ibbo becoming a clanger king.

Positives:
Sandi (All Australian ruckman), Duffman, Foster battled hard, other than that not alot. Des was Ok and Peake showed glimpses.

Negatives:
The Final qtr (can never stop a run on), Lack of guts and heart, Tackling and pressure is poor, turnovers, Poor kicking to forwards/no forward targets, lack of pace across the board (no one is fast enough).

No point worrying now, get the youth some more experience and expect more losses I suppose. Need some KPP's and more speed in the next draft.

These thrashings come along when you play youth. Hopefully, not too often. At least we can try to get some form back at home against Carlton.

agree
was goingto say the only positive was that it wasnt an honorable loss but you beat me to it
negatives
that was a typical freo respone to a big build up,nothings changed as far as i can see
i was going to predict a solid thumping after last weeks "honorable" loss in the who will win thread because, well because we are freo and that is what we do,build it up for a big show then ...
come out and play like squids,
but i left it alone hoping i would be wrong.
nothing changed as far as i'm concerned,we are shit and continue to be shit, all this talk of the kids giving us encouraging signs was beginning to wear thin on me anyway, lets face it we have lost the last 6 on the trot now,5 leading up to today, thats not encouraging as far as im concerned ,we are starting to get to comfortable with the fact that "hey we just lost another one but geee the kids showed some good signs"
pfffft what a load of rubbish ,they should bleed when they lose regardless of who they played.
we have to get some runs on the board in the next few weeks or we are going nowhere

Positives:
Believe it nailed it! We will come out and play well next week after an embarrassing loss like this one. We will beat Carlton next week, nothing surer!

Freo need to be humiliated in order to get the required motivation.

Negatives:
Pav injured. This could be a positive in that we will see just how we will go without the great man. Others will have to step up.

Freo need to be humiliated in order to get the required motivation.

If we beat carlton as i predict, it will say to me that the players don't have it mentally to give 100% for every game throughout a season.

Positives they walk of the oval looking at the ground and know how disapointed there fan were at the MCG,Too much shame to look them in the eyes as they walk off and this will put the fire ,anger back into the club

Negatives they went back to there old way of playing, collingwood work out that a rush lead from the start will break the will of the dockers and they would be force to play chase football

I seen them walking of the oval from day one but today not one look up at us who went across to back and cheer for them, they know they let us down with the lack of skill, They also know other clubs like the blues who they play next week were in the stands taking notes

I worry that they will blame the umps and make no changes and the blues know if they come out and go crazy in the first 20mins and kick five goals...It game over for us.

It still was worth the money to fly over and cheer for them, I feel sorry for them, All look so wash out and crushed from this loss the plan trip back will give them all something to think about.

As everyone pack up and started to head towards the hotel the collingwood fand started yelling..freo is a joke nd a good club to train with, It sucks big time and the docker fans have thick skins and will take the crap, I hope the club take today loss and breaks it down...were are we going and what needs to be done so we can wlk of the oval with smiles and looking up

sad day for all

Not sure why people are saying Des as a positive, apart from getting through the game.

3 absolute howlers in the first quarter that set the tone. Earn your spot next time plz.

Positive - Had my own footy game on today so I didnt have to watch the thumping.

Negative - Had to come home and watch the Egirls win. Feck
