Yesterday has happened, nothing we can do about it

time to focus on essendon at the dome on sunday. :thumbsu:

for mine, i think we should be making 3 changes

out - perrie, doughty
in - rutten, gill

play scott stevens in the forward line, as with kenny, and put bocky in the backline

Re: Time to invoke the 24 hour rule

Can hardly remember yesterday as I drowned my sorrows with a beer or 9 and too hungover today to care.

Looking forward to the Essendon game, I think we'll win it :)

IN - Rutten, Roo, Gill
OUT - Perrie, Mattner, Douglas

Re: Time to invoke the 24 hour rule

I would love to see some changes but I doubt we see them. I don't think Rutten is even a chance for this week and Roo might be touch and go.

Personally I would bring in Meesen and stick him at FF and play him there for the whole game. I would also give him the job of doing all the ruckwork in the forward line.

What I am more concerned though is players being played out of position and not being moved even when they struggle. Bock should go back to CHB and McGregor to FF or FP. Playing these 2 anywhere else is a waste of time IMHO.

I am also sick and tired of the piss poor forward line pressure we are seeing this year. There just isn't any!!!! We are really missing Matthew Bode as he is the master at it. So what I would do is from now on and until the end of this year, play Johncock in the forward line. He has pace, tackling ability and he has a bit of X factor where he can create something out of nothing. He is a very good overhead for his size and he is clever at ground level. Other than Burton, there is no one there with a bit of unpredictability and I think Johncock can give us a bit of that.

And move Mattner to the wing!!!!

I would drop doughty long before Douglas at this stage of the season.

Re: Time to invoke the 24 hour rule

He will drop Mattner, put in Rutten.
Ricciuto would come in for Douglas.

Unless he has decided to stop being a moron, which is unlikely.
Then this would be nice

In : Gill, McIntyre, Rutten/Roo
Out : Perrie, Welsh, Doughty

But then Craig is perhaps scared of the angry red hed, that would be the only reason Perrie fields.
Mattner played further up field.

Hell I'd cut more but it's just not anywhere near close to what will happen as it is.
Throw in either Griffin or Jericho for Bock or Mcgregor who are just so slow and not agile.

Re: Time to invoke the 24 hour rule

Kickin goals - have another beer. We need to have long term injuries to upgrade rookies, and I believe McIntyre has dropped back to the rookie list because of Biglands. He has also been in shocking form. It would be nice if you had a clue.

Re: Time to invoke the 24 hour rule

The forward pressure doesn't exist atm. I would try Bryce Campbell in there - having seen him first-hand his game is all about tackling damn hard and going at everything 110%; he could not possibly do anything but improve the pressure level inside our 50.
Nothing against Campbell but I want someone in there with a bit of X-Factor that can give me something on both sides of the ball. Campbell kicks his couple every week in the SANFL but I want someone who is a bit more creative and can create something out of nothing!!! Johncock is aproven goal kicker. He kicked 40 odd goals in a season a few years ago and he is a bit of a spark plug there. While I would say he plays his best football in defence where he is generally more consistent, we need to roll the dice here and play Johncock as a forward for the rest of this season (hoever long that is) and then re-assess your options during the PS for next year.

I would rather try Campbell in the guts to give us some hardness there. We have been getting smashed in the midfield.

If he is in shocking form he should slot right in.
Not like any of them are getting a game, Mattner out random in.

But we all know it's a pipe dream

No way that Torney should be dropped.

No way that Torney should be dropped.
Why not? Has he been playing well?

We need more pace in the side & IMO, there is only room for Torney or Massie. The later I reckon was in good form before being burnt in the Saints game.

The conservative and most likely scenario the match committee will take

If Ben Rutten and Mark Ricciuto cannot over come current injuries and cannot come up for this week I can only see the one change being made.

In: Jericho

Out: Douglas

Do I want Richard Douglas to be dropped? Hell no but this is what I envisage the match committee doing.

If the match committee took the conservative gloves off and picked player on performance rather than reputation with a golden ticket this is what I would like to see them do.

IMO the 2007 season is over as our form over the last months has been terrible and unpredictable. Even if we scrape into the final 8 we will just be making up the numbers because we are uncertain what Adelaide Crows side will turn up and play so IMO it is time we started planning for 2008 and beyond by getting some game into the kids and weeding out the dead wood.

To start off with I would make 4 changes this week (outside the Rutten and Ricciuto calculations)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Out: Torney, Doughty, Perrie, Welsh

In: Pfeiffer, Meesen McIntyre, Gill

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

FF: Meesen ~ Burton ~ McGregor

HF: Knights ~ Gill ~ Johncock

C: Mattner ~ Thompson ~ Reilly

HB: Van Berlo ~ Bock ~ McLeod

FB: Massie ~ Stevens ~ McIntyre

Ruck: Hudson ~ Goodwin ~ Edwards

Interchange: Maric ~ Douglas ~ Shirley ~ Pfeiffer

Gill should come in for one of McGregor or Perrie.
Either Gill or Meesen should come in for McGregor.

Perrie is still our best option for CHF IMO.

Surely its time for Robert Shirley to be dumped back to the sanfl after his pathetic performance against Fremantle. He is definately not a tagger. On three ocassions i saw him walking with hands on hips on the outer wing while the player he was tagging Bell was on the other side of the ground 10m away from the ball. 2 Possesions up to 3 quarter time is not good enough. Time to bring in Campbell for him.

In - Meeson, Gill, Campbell
Out - Perrie, Shirley, Douglas

is porplyzia definately out for another week, i think we will be a lot better with bode and porplyzia in our forwardline,we need someone like Alwyn Davy.
I'd drop Mcregor, bring in Jericho and play bock in the backline. I'd drop shirley and bring in pfeifer.
Who do you think will man up on Lyod and Lucas?
