Let's put aside all the gloom and doom talk for a moment and discuss Round 2 (yes it is that early).

After a bit of thinking i think the changes should be (if Richards is not fit):
IN: Rowe, Maxwell, C.Cloke
OUT: Lonie, Williams, Buckley (inj)

B: N.Maxwell, S.Prestigiacomo, S.Woewodin
HB: B.Johnson, S.Wakelin, J.Clement
C: J.Rowe, C.Morrison, R.Cole
HF: B.Caracella, A.Rocca, C.Tarrant
F: L.Davis, C.Cloke, S,Burns
Fo: D.Fanning, P.Licuria, T.Lockyer
Int: T.Walker, B.Holland, S.O'Bree, R.Shaw
Emg: A.Williams, R.Lonie, B.Shaw

OUTS:
Lonie - Drop him. It will do him good. If MM was fair dinkum about his criticism on Lonie in the Hun then he should drop him to send a message that he is sick of him coasting through games.

Williams - He didn't play THAT bad (or Willo bad) but he like Lonie made a few errors where he was a spectator. He isn't accountable enough, nor is he damaging enough he is useless. However I would have Lonie dropped before Willo.

Buckley - Injured :(

INS:
Rowe: This is a no brainer, he was RUMOURED to have been dropped for discipline reasons and he had a good game for Willy. Put him on the wing and he will do a better job then Willo guaranteed.

C.Cloke: Although he didn't set the world alite for Willy or in the pre-season it was clear that we lacked a helping hand in the ruck. He also will stretch the Adelaide defence.

Maxwell: I don't know why he was left out of Bulldogs game, that was clearly a mistake. If the reason was team balance it turned out that Presti didn't have a matchup, but I think Presti/Wakes will take Perrie/Stevens. Maxwell would be a good matchup for Welsh or a number of Crows smalls.

Brayden Shaw IIRC had a good game for Willy and should be considered for selection as he has shown good pre-season form.

Does anyone know if the likes of Billy, Boochy and Rusling are up and running and playing for Willy 1sts/2nds?

Lonie_from_50, youv'e included brayden in your 'squad'. now couple of questions then:
1. im guessing you may have seen him play recentley so tell me, what are your thoughts on him at the minute because he must be doing alright at the moment to get a call up for his debut in your opinion?
2. where do you see brayden going in the future? (this question goes out to all people who have seen enough on him to make an educated judgement regards this)

from what i've heard and read, exceptional leadership qualties but less than outstanding skills or pace. now i'm really looking forward to one of our midfield draftees over the last few years coming up and really cementing a place in the side as a class midfielder and well, i was kinda hoping brayden could be him. could he be?
thanks

I haven't seen as much as I would have liked, but reports that have come out of TMN reliable followers, plus a little bias on the young gun as it is "A Shaw Thing".

He is a good leader and does have the skills as a midfielder. Not the fastest guy out there, but he does have class, and has potential.

Just as Buckley, and now Burns??? out of the side, I hope Brayden and Julian both come in. David King guys will be the most likely replacement though, probably before the two I mentioned, which is a bummer.

I picked B.Shaw as an Emergency based on that he went ok in the prac match vs. Sydney and he got a good review in the Willy prac game last week, now this is 2nd hand reports but you'd think he is ahead of other young midfielders right now.
Like Balmey said he needs to find an area that he can excel at and say "look at me" to get selected but with our form/injuries I think he should get selected.

Brayden Shaw is said to be slow and one dimensional by Neil balme when quizzed about his progress. Personally I think its all smoke and daggers stuff to take a bit of pressure of him and to hopefully gain an improve in whats been mentioned scantily as a slight attitude problem. Heaven knows if 'sour grapes' Tony Shaw is your old man you may natrually not have the highest esteem of the current coaching fraternity.

Seen him play for Willy last year in what was effectively his first year. He was not MCGough slow or was he mark mcgough one dimensional. In Both live games I saw he showed some dash and poise if other then a slightly ungainly kicking style. Showed he had a touch of class, and certainly had a sound base from which he can build from. Similar in pace to a tarkyn lockyer i guess is the best way to compare, not blistering but a fine turn of speed.
Is said to be desperate to play seniors as his form towards the latter stages of last year had him earmarked for a possible senior debut until he did his shoulder.

I do not think he is as limited in his ability as Balme made out a couple of weeks ago so dont believe everything our favoured mouthpiece dishes out, Balmy is our spin doctor and he does his job rather well..

That will be great, Maxwell and C.Cloke will be rotated through the midfield.

No, but Maxwell could at least release Lonie into midfield and attacking roles. Not sure about suggestions that Holland and/or Woewodin get the flick just yet. I think Monday they were made to look like idiots by the gameplan one-two-circle-work-let's-go-backwards-oops-now-we've-lost-it. Hopefully against Adelaide they'll be allowed to have a crack again to go forward instead of backwards (though of course never to use the forbidden centre corridor - we only have Tarrant and Rocca up there as decoys to provide atmosphere and allow us to attack running backwards into the critical pockets). I hope they don't feel like idiots.

in: Daicos, Kelly, Millane
out: Shaw, Williams, Buckley

ok im dreaming.

in: C. Cloke, Maxwell, Rowe, B.Shaw
out: Williams, Obree, Buckley, Fanning

Just play Presti forward this week and we'll win.

Adelaide have no tall forwards bar Mark Stevens. Why not throw up something different?

Keep Williams as well in the side, I thought he was alright.

Why does everyone want to see C.Cloke play this week, he has done nothing this year at all. Poor preseason and played ********enhousen for willi this week according to those who went to the game? (Yes i know he only played half the game) Who is to say that richards wont be fit this week, or why dont we bring in a a young kpp to hold done CHF, to let Rocca run in the ruck?

Your right silverpheonix. Let MM ruin Cameron Cloke's career along with Jason's.

Cam should be playing with the Pies. Not only is he a decent forward, he is a valuable ruckman, and we I think Text should be the Key Position Back/Forward.

As for Rocca in the ruck. I loved him in the centre bounces, but now with the Centre Circle rule, Rocca has no real advantage at all.

COLLINGWOOD
B: Johnson, Clement, Wakelin
HB: Cole, Prestigiacomo, Holland
C: Davis, O'Bree, R.Shaw
HF: Licuria, Tarrant, Caracella
F: Morrison, Walker, Lockyer
FOLL: Rocca, Rowe, Burns
I/C (from): C.Cloke, Egan, Fanning, Lonie, Maxwell, Williams, Woewodin
IN:Rowe, Egan, C.Cloke, Maxwell
OUT:Buckley (hamstring)
NEW: Chris Egan (Murray Bushrangers

Thats how the team has been posted for the adelaide game, with richards not there, it really only leaves us C.Cloke to fill the ruck void. From that squad id like to see deffinately Williams out, and possibly woewodin, with the final choice coming down to either cloke or fanning. A few ppl hav been calling for lonie's head this week... i disagree, id just like to see him play in a more attacking position like a wing or a forward flank. I like the idea of rowe in the middle, he adds that bit of skill to the middle...

Really hoping that egan can play his first game, would like to see the 1st and 2nd yearers blooded alot more this year. We need to find AFL standard replacements for the likes of buckley, burns, wakelin, and to some extent woewodin
