Do we win that with Jake and Harley? Or Yeo and Allen?

I don’t know. All you can do is put your best team of that week out there and hope they turn up, regardless of who it is and who they’re against.

**** me, the boys turned up. Had an absolutely massive dip against a side that has been rampaging far better teams than us (if you can imagine such teams existing).

Not buying this “they have no idea how to win” shit. McCarthy’s exiting 50 creatively. Hough’s brilliant kick with all the pressure in the world. They took it on, they didn’t go into their shells. They tried to open the game up which had been working for three quarters. Sometimes when you’re 18th and missing all of the pillars of your team, you lose to the best team in footy.

A bit shit, for sure, but it’s turning. Hang in there.

Positives
  • Hewett and Kelly both massive in different ways. Both have had arguably their best two games of the season in the two weeks Reid hasn’t been there to bail our mids out. Hewett’s hands, Kelly’s contested workrate (lol?). Don’t shovel dirt on him yet? Maybe?
  • Shanahands. Crows backline eating people alive this year and he looked nothing like a 19 year old leading the forwardline for one of the first times.
  • McCarthy, tick, makes it happen.
  • Ginbey. Bloke’s 20. 200+ gamer and, when I mentioned earlier we’re missing our pillars, we’re sort of not anymore given what he’s shown this year.
  • Baker, next captain, how many times can it be said
  • Flynn busted his ass today. Need to address the ruck stocks badly, but it really isn’t for a lack of trying from these blokes. Archer’s cameo in there also very good.
Negatives
  • Didn’t get the result, a bizarre thing to be saying in a game we were 10 goal underdogs. A $1000 bet on the Crows netted you $20, that’s how heavy the favourites were. Really would have been special.
  • Chesser started like the best player on earth then faded. Davis needs to pick up the speed and physicality of AFL footy, but who cares pump games for now.
  • Gross one touch. I get why they subbed him off, nobody needs to like it but you tie the coach’s hands somewhat when you’re that quiet. Big offseason for him and hope he can finally get some midfield minutes because he’s wasted as this nothing HFF.
  • Reid presented hard but really never gives us much as a forward. Good in the ruck though.
  • Backline inundated late and we completely ran out of legs again. Such is life in many ways, but we’ve got one win and it’s almost all down to an inability to run out the last 10 minutes of games every week. Flood gates territory.
We’re going to make it, but **** that would have been a special reward for the work they put in. On to the…what’s that say…Bulldogs. **** sake.

Positive and negative vs crom karma edition for the 'not this game' fans.
Even the football gods were not strong enough to give us a win to troll the fans that said "every game but this one"

pressure excellent

our key fwds tired badly in the 2nd half and their backs dominated the air
maybe went a bit too slow in the last quarter

Main Positive:

Commentator saying ' Isaac cumming on his boot'

Much lols

Oh and brilliant pressure from a young team

McCarthy, Brock, Hall, Davis, Hough, Hewett, Ginbey and Shanahan all pretty good and look like players

Chesser and Bazzo playing for their spots the last couple of weeks

Why the hell can't Kelly bring that effort every week, he was great. Jack Graham back made a huge difference

Fantastic effort. We've now taken it to two top-three sides so the game plan holds up. Pressure was excellent for the first three quarters. Hewett, McCarthy, Ginbey and Shanahan were all excellent. Kelly was good for the most part as well. Fatigue set in late, resulting in some poor decision making and skill execution, but the senior players need to stand up in those moments and they didn't.

Positives

  • Jobe Shanahan, su-perb.
  • Flynn. Wasn't perfect, isn't perfect, but jesus he tried
  • Reid in the ruck when half fit, competed and did his part. This needs to be the way
  • Tom Cole. The best game he's had in years. Was immense.
  • Chesser, I know he faded but he probably earned himself another year. There's enough there to persist with.
  • Tom McCarthy. We got lucky

Negatives

  • Decision making. We had our chances at the start where we left three pretty easy goals on the table.
  • Decision making mk 2, had our chances at the end to stretch the lead but blew it, by not being smart or composed enough.
  • Gross was.. Gross. Not good.

That'll do. After the steamer that has been this year, I'll take it.

Is it just me or did you guys reckon Bazzo played shithouse today
He struggled a bit. Should play the last two games but really should be playing WAFL.

Thought Brock was really good and unsure why Bazzo was played ahead of him for a while (before Edwards injured). Now, if he can just put on some bulk…
I'm really not worried about Brock's build, he came in as a late SSP so didn't have a full preseason. We don't want him too bulky as his close down speed and acceleration are his big strengths.

Obviously one of our best games of the season bit still very deflating. Another preseason will hopefully help us run out games more. Jobe is going to be something in a few years with a bit better service.
