I wonder what the post game event was like.

Kochie come back and say 2019 will be great?

Hinks I’m sorry.

All leaders coming back to face the you’ll be right crew

I hope everyone here realises that Gold Coast are going to smack the absolute bejesus out of the kitty litters tomorrow.

Nah. Geelong are actually a football team and have a captain when it counts.

Hinkley, Koch et al will be pointing at the last 3 quarters and saying how we outscored Essendon 12.10 to 11.5 over that period, as well as saying how we got to 7 points in the second quarter and 17 points in the last quarter. They'll never mention the 6.4 to 1.1 first quarter, the three quick goals in the second quarter when we had all the momentum, the fact that we were 43 points down before we hit back or that we still had half a quarter when we were 17 points down and didn't have to go hell for leather with high-risk footy. But it was the same old, same old. We had the ball going forward and it was continually handballed to someone running past who had to make a perfect grab. Sooner or later there had to be a fumble and a turnover or if there wasn't one then the handballs slowed the movement of the ball down enough for them to tackle us. They beat us in tackles 83-50 and the differential was mainly because we put ourselves in a position to be tackled with handballs to a player under pressure. And there were so many times that we tackled them but allowed them to stand up in the tackle and get the ball to a free player. It was so obvious what was happening that I was looking for the Essendon player behind the pack as soon as one of theirs was tackled.

Also from where I sat the crowd was bigger than 39 Kay. I struggled to get a beer and use the toilet at the Hill end. That's how I guage the crowd. Annnnnnd. Mid strength beer at the scoreboard bar. I arksed why. They said because the Hill is a family area. Lol since when. SMA.

Billy already better than Watts in his debut game.

That says a lot about Watts.

Looks like a long rebuild.. Ken could bomb this club back to 2012. He should be sacked as well as KT and Kochie. Just irresponsible. Goodluck to Polly , he's never winning shit here.. anyone else who has second thoughts just go..

2018 is our 2007.........meaning we have years of pain before we truly bottom out

From where I sat Ryder played well but was almost demanding a wheel chair. When he rested in the goal square he was limping like an 80 year old. Did Billy do ok in the middle? Didn't notice him apart from his blonde hair and late goal.

Ryder looks 100 years old. The fact we went into this year with only him is insane.

The law of averages or something says there is no actual way that none of our string of 39k and a bit crowds didn't in reality tip the 40k mark at some stage this year. Consistently pulling attendances within a 3-5k threshold i.e 35, 000 - 39, 999 but never tipping the magic albeit arbitrary 40k mark is not suspicious to me in the slightest.

He can still jump better than any ruck. He's massively injured and needs to get under the surgeons knife tomorrow. How did Billy go? My seats are behind the goals I was trying to look out for him. Didn't stand out.

The campaigners are like our government. Shit and corrupt.

Good to see the team learning from their mistakes
From what I saw of Ken's presser there was a lot of what/why stuff. Ken reckons he/we know what has gone wrong
and he is determined to find out why. After 6 seasons HE is determined to find out why but wait it gets better
he's going to enjoy looking for the answer. For me it was face palm stuff.
Wanna know why we are where we are Ken well here's a hint see that mirror over there.
The exaggerated stern sincerity was a face saving farce. Like your the victim here.

40k crowd was more than I thought, well done fans. The march while small'ish was really loud and a lot of fun highlight of my night.

I had no pre concieved ideas of how I'd act at the game, and had no expectations. I bet on Essendon 1-39, but I just hoped we'd come out, play some solid footy and win.

However I rocked up, I didn't stand or clap for NGI. I couldn't be bothered raising my scarf for NTUA, though I did sing but not with much gusto. During the game I found myself not clapping anything, in fact I don't remember any clapping whatsoever. From the first bounce the team looked like a side that had all their hope sapped last week and came out with nothing to play for, where as the Bombers were well and truly accepting of their fate and just wanted to win. And I think that malaise just rolled into the crowd. They didn't care and neither did I.

I just dont care anymore. A die hard, that never misses a game and has followed this club since birth in 82. This club has pushed me to the brink with whats happening.

The people at the top may not want to accept it, but this is 4 years of failure now and we're in serious trouble on-field, but more than that we're in serious trouble off field. Supporters have been detatching emotionally fom this team for years now, and this 1-6 collapse to end the season may well have huge ramifications for our club on and off the field. Why? BECAUSE THERE IS NO HOPE. They've killed our hope. We have very little coming through and we have absolutely no options at the top.

The board must be held accountable for the Hinkley extension and Hinkley must go.

Mediocrity is not acceptable at Port Adelaide, and we can't start just accepting it.

Typical Port game really.

I don't really care what they say now, they're still in cliche mode.

What matters is what happens in the offseason. I don't really care what Ken tries, but he has to at least have a red hot crack at changing things to improve.

The game was lost in the first quarter. We came out and looked like we didn't want to be there. We looked dispirited and broken. Understandable on some level, most of us were feeling the same way. Obviously they got a bake at quarter time and decided they didn't want to finish the season losing by 100+ so things improved from there.

Thought our defence was really poor. Hombsch was terrible. Pittard comical at times. Howard had some good moments and some terrible ones. Lienert had his worst game. The usual team defence was nowhere to be seen. They weren't working as a team to cover each other off and support each other in the way they normally do. It looked like a group that had no more left to give mentally.

Plenty of others who had dirty nights. Watts couldn't get near it. His finish to the season has been disappointing. SPP's form has completely collapsed over the last month or two. S.Gray offered nothing. Neade was a joke but I won't hang him on it because he tries hard, he just isn't good enough to be on an AFL list.

Our best 4 were Westhoff, Polec, Wingard and Boak. No surprises there as they have probably been our 4 most consistent performers this year.

All told, an uninspiring finish to an uninspiring season. The fall out will be significant. What it looks like on the other side is anyone's guess.

Ken is devoid of answers.
We are broken.
He at least admits the footy department has let us down.
Is willing to review and that will include looking at his game plan and will change it if that is what is néeded
After 6 farken years he admits it isn't working. On the coin he's getting we're saddled with a learner who will change.
I'm well past cutting this prick any slack. OK Ken what mark do you give yourself for 2018 and tell us
what you said to the PAFC to get you contract extended last year. That you were the man for the job?
