I think we can win this.

We kept up with Hawthorn a few weeks back for all but a few minutes (when they piled on goals and won the game), and I think we should have a much better lineup now/in a few weeks time with Reid back in and hopefully a settled lineup.


And if the Hawks game is a dead rubber for them, then I think Clarko has been known to rest up a few blokes IIRC... reminds me of a final round Hawks v Suns in one of their formative years, I put $5 on the Suns at about 15 or 20:1 after seeing massive Hawks outs but the hawks got up by a kick or so...

I like your optimism Kilmo but the Hawks will use this game as a tune up for finals. We are in for a world of pain.

Essendon are notorious for dropping away at around this time. They have games against Richmond, WC, GC and Carlton - and while they'd be favourites to win those individually, I'd be surprised if they managed to win all 4. Then they've also got Sydney this week.

Imagine the irony if we're relying on Carlton to smash them in round 23 to get into the 8
