That was a terrible performance.

White: Good, but he'll always, always have his moments, like getting caught holding the ball etc, today no exception.
Marsh: Good, poor guy should be paying seniors if he wasn't so injury prone.
Golds: Saw nothing to get exited about.
Phillips: Nice kick on him, but don't think he'll make it.
Goodyear: Very disappointing, dont trust the club anymore. What do they see in him? Nothing to get excited about.
Macaffer: Must be a very good bloke to make it to the leadership group because his ability does not cut it. Won't play another AFL game based on that. Hoe long is his contract?
Broomhead: Very disappointing.
Sier: Look ok when he gets it but doesn't get it anywhere near enough. Worrying.
Willis: He was killing it early, but then went out of it. On current form he probably should be getting a game ahead of Crisp and Greenwood.
Crocker: Good early then went completely out of it, granted the ball spent nearly the entire game in Essendon's half of the ground There's something there, but he's a very poor mans Elliott, Fas and why did we trade for Howe then recruit this guy?
Cloke: Hard to judge, poor delivery and all that but looks lost.

Can't think of any more AFL listed players, we should get a heap back in the VFL next week. Off the top of my head, Witts, Sinclair, Langdon, Gault and maybe Goldsack back next week things should improve you'd think. Although Goldsack broken thumb? What a train-reck.

Howe tried hard all day, but we really missed Cox in the ruck. Shows just how much Cox has developed.
Watching Wyatt in the ruck was painful. He had no idea about technique. He basically jumped into Jamar and ended up on his ass most of the time.

Can't blame him at all given its his first year and I'm not sure we have a specialist ruck coach to teach him the skills.

Marsh with another injury it seems, was walking with an ice pack after the final siren, tied around his calf.

Shocking performance, don't really know what to make of it.

Tapping was disgusted with the first quarter, or maybe he saw what was coming, because he got them in a huddle and screamed at them for a good minute before the normal break into groups.

As for standouts, there were none, NONE. Pass marks to Wills, Crocker, White and Marsh of the senior listed players.

Forget about it, terrible game, terrible effort, terrible performance.

Against a former All Australian ruckman he was always going to get pantsed.

And Simpkin and Crowley also killed us.

I would hope they would see this as an an opportunity and step up. There was a passage of play near the end where Essendon had three uncontested marks and gave it to a bloke on his own in the Square, as the camera followed the play I saw 3 of our AFL listed newbies casually jogging along 20m off the play, not one looked up and sprinted to the spare man. This is not game plan or coaches, this is lack of effort, lack of pride in performance.
Teams always fall away when they are getting smashed

I was going to ask if Cloke did enough to earn a ticket to WA next week. But it sounds like he probably needs another week?

Teams might but elite players don't, the point of my comment was with so many out if they are desperate for an AFL career this was the moment to step up, show the selectors they don't accept getting smashed, they are of higher character.

Sier was always a a long term project, well lean more next year. I don't think we were planning on drafting Crocker, but we picked him up because he unexpectedly slipped so low in the draft. Agree that it's hard to tell with Cloke, is he lost because he is out of form or because of the game plan?

Cloke needs a team with a game plan that delivers the ball quick and direct into the hot spot so he has a chance one on one.
