Round 4 Captains

Hodges and BW4PM, I wouldn't be considering Chad. With Westhoff out he'll probably be spending a lot of time in the forward line (he did last week) and key forwards usually don't score well against Hawthorn. Chad is least effective in both AFL and DT terms when used as a forward, but being the utility that he is Choco won't hesitate to throw him up there.

I changed the (c) from Chad to Swan because of this.

Proof that BF can be a good and bad thing.

I’m thinking maybe I should have kept Chad Cornes as Captain now (like I originally had picked), because it would have earnt me an extra 24 points. As I said last night though, you can’t really complain about 234 from your Captain in any week. The extra points would have been handy though. Still, I'm fairly pleased with results so far this round.

This happens every week, and its pretty pedantic of me to point it out, but did you know its not actually a difference of 24? It is simply the difference between the two players; 12.

Yea you're right, I just worked it out. Still, you want all the extra points you can get, even if it is only 12.

Ended up leaving the captaincy with Ablett, mainly due to having no time to change it.

His recent history is quite scary, only averages 61 vs the crows and has never scored over 100 vs them. However its his 150th so hopefully he goes balistic!!

i choose Ablett in my starting team because i wanted a lock-and-leave captain, however in round 1 i went with Cox because of his previous record against Brisbane. Gazza ended up with 120+ and Cox didnt make the ton.

Since then ive left Ablett as permanent captain for the rest of the year, regardless of any previous history of scores against clubs. If i only average 110 for my captain then im happy.

So glad i ignored his record against Adelaide tonight. Was very tempted to name Gibbs or Cox but im sticking to my lock-and-leave captain rule now

Vent: Myself! For choosing Gibbs as captain over Ablett. I've now learnt my lesson and will from here on give Gazz the honour of being el capitano. He is a force you simply cannot reckon with.

Decided to buck the trend once more and hand the captaincy to Kane Cornes, which will be 2 weeks in a row now that i haven't given the honours to Ablett. It didn't pay off for me last week, and was adamant on choosing Gazz, but looking at his recent record against the Crows i was scared off. Hoping Kornes can rip it up!

Haha, if i didn't learn my lesson from last week i definitely have this week! Whilst i'm still content with Kornes' 103, the 52 extra points for having Gazza captain would've been nice. I think i summed it up well when i said last week "He is a force you simply cannot reckon with." I'm backing him in from here on in, the guy is just an absolute freak!

Oh, and just of note; 31/32 of his 46 possies were handballs - just imagine his score if a majority of those were kicks!
