Wow. That was an absolute disgrace.

No issue with penalties, but that game needed a sin bin or three to stop what happened. No surprise at all to see the game end the way it did.

The single worst thing for me was, players not playing the ball with their feet and it was great to see them fix that up, but it's gone way to far IMO to the point where it's now effecting the quality of the games.

give credit to both coaches. both said that it wasn't the refs fault for all those penalties. both put it back onto their own players.

however the bin is needed. especially for brailey. 4 pens in 20 mins and no sinbin. WTF????

Hard to work out what was worse, the referees or the Storms diving. Billy Slater would make a great soccer player

At least the right team won for a change and a referee being sin binned? Gotta be a first!!! Just like Storm getting penalised for a forward pass, never seen it before, although it was while Smith was off, so still never seen him penalised for a forward pass but 1 step at a time!

57 penalties in both Friday games yesterday. That’s an absolute joke. As you say, if they’re not doing the right thing, bin them.

I actually don’t even blame the refs. This crackdown has come from above them. It is making games unwatchable though.

The NRL are successfully returning the game to its Rugby roots. Seeing games with 7 goals and 1 try. The penalties being given away are by and large advantaging the side giving away the penalty. We need an advantage rule ..even more like Rugby, I know, to be utilised in the attackang 20 so the team with the ball can play out its six and go for the try, if they fail, bring it back for the penalty. The game is unwatchable. If last night is a guide, we saw the teams who will finish way down the ladder given the rubbishy they and the refs served up.

I don't blame the refs (much), although there were a few bad decisions. Players need to wise up, and quick. I thought Melbourne were a side who prided themselves on not giving cheap penalties, but they gave away plenty. As did their opponents. Talk back to the ref, and you get marched 10. Talk back again, and get a yellow. Why not, whoever you are?

Good result for the Panthers.

You were saying? :)
Whoops, my apologies. I’m very hungover haha.

How impressive was it! Harder to do that than actually kick the goal...

What do you think of your boys chances this afternoon? Will definitely put up a better performance than we did last week...

Not confident of a win, but you never know. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few binnings after last nights debacle and we may cop the brunt of them.

Off to the MCG so will miss the game unfortunately.

Think that other team of yours at the G is on a hiding to nothing today. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking :D;)

LoL

I think watching GWS play will be pretty special. They really are great to watch with the style of footy they play.

Blimey. 4 from 4 and winning without SJ for the first time in ages. Top of the ladder for a day at least.

Meanwhile the Pies were gallant up against the the Giants. Good to know reffing in the NRL isn't alone in having dodgy officials.

Sharks player's abuse all night but Smith ends up in the bin. ******* lol.

Fair go mate I heard the ref tell Cam to shut it at least twice. The refs are also finally getting into Smith for leaving the line before the player has played the ball which is something he has done for years. Cam has been penalised in a couple of games this year. That career first send off bought the greatest cheer for the night. In fact another storm player was lucky not to have been sent off when the Storm gave away three penalties in one set as Cronulla were attacking.

If you are looking at send offs have a close look at the Luke Lewis send off where Billy takes a dive. Lewis does not appear to make contact with Slater who takes a dive that would have made Greg Louganis proud.

Sharks defence was terrific and Storm were out muscled in a penalty fest.

Again wtf does the shire cheering have to do with it being a hilarious call? How many times did the refs tell the Sharks players "your not captain I'm not talking to you?"

Yet the Storm captain talks to them the exact same way and it's a sin bin?

Please. Absolute garbage.

And I've never said the Sharks didn't deserve the win. 100% they were the better team.
