In: Ryan, Edwards
Out: Kelly (managed), Long

Backs: Edwards, Brock, Maric, Ginbey, Hough, Cole, Duggan
Mids: Reid, Baker, Graham, Hall/Gross, Hunt, Dewar
Rucks: Williamses
Forwards: Allen, Reid, Ryan, Davis, Cripps, Owies, Gross/Hall
Sub: Brockman
Emergencies: Long (held over), Petruccelle, Flynn

Edwards back in to help out against McKay and Curnow, rather than completely leave Brock on an island again. Not sure what the logic was in dropping Edwards then taking him (and Rawlinson) to Sydney so he didn’t get a chance to work on whatever he needed to work on.

Reid back into the middle, Kelly to have a week off to freshen up/consider his future/whatever. Seemed to be reluctant to get out of second gear today, even in a milestone game.

Davis into the 22 for Long (I would have had Long ahead of Owies today but the coach obviously didn’t).

Ryan back in, Brockman to sub.

Jack Williams to spend more time in the ruck, actually looked as good as any of our rucks have all year today.

Petch and Flynn to continue leading the Beagles, Bo Allan to be in the mix for a home debut at Easter.

I’m assuming Waterman and Hewett won’t be available again. Hewett probably needs a run in the twos anyway.

OUT: Kelly, Cole, Long (All omitted), A. Reid (Rested off a six-day break)
IN: Ryan, Johnston, Petch, Waterman

If Hewett is fit, he can come in for Brockman

Surely Kelly is public enemy #1 this week.

He's failed to hit 20 disposals in 3 out of 4 games. Failed to even hit 15 touches in 2 of them. If you're looking for someone whot epitomizes the "Underperforming senior player" tag, it's most definitely him.

We've carried him but his luck/credits/stature has got to be wearing thin.

Do I think it will happen? No, but it's fun to vent.

Against Cripps, Cerra, Walsh and Hewett I very much doubt Kelly will get left out. He's like a cockroach surviving a nuclear blast. There's always one reason or another why he ends up staying in the side. I'm not sure what we'll be missing. 14 touches and 1 tackle is all he put up. Take that out from next week and we won't even miss it.

Out: Kelly, Long, Davis
IN: Allan, Petrucelle, Hewett
This week might be the week he finds love for the game again though 🤔

How did we get that many inside 50s? we haven’t had that many for a while.

Poor going inside?

55 for only 16 scoring shots

Sorry Petch, didn't travel with the team not part of the gather round road trip good vibes boys. Come in for the Hawks game after backing in up in the WAFL.

Out: Long, Hunt, Cole, Kelly
In, Rawlinson, Ryan, Edwards, Waterman

F: Rawlinson, Waterman, Cripps
HF: Owee's, Reid, Ryan
C: Dewar, Hall, Davis
HB: Ginbey, Brock, Reid
B: Hough, Edwards, Maric
Fol: Billiams, Hall, Gross
Int: Allen, Duggan, Graham, Baker, Brockman

Not sure what to do with Allen, on form you can't have him in the side ahead of Archer Reid or Jack Williams. Not sure what to do with Duggan, so captains to the bench. Can't run a backline with a 2nd gamer as your only key forward and they won't move Allen back so Edwards back in. I guess Brockman is most in trouble here form wise, still looks silk but maybe due a spell as the sub.

Could win this with a youthful side like the one named and a bench full of the least worst senior players. Kelly I've never had in my outs because realistically it was never going to happen. It's time now though, literally can't offer this bloke a new contract the way he is currently playing which means either he goes back and fixes his game or you basically just delist him at seasons end and its up to Fremantle if they want to pay him some dollars as depth/insurance. Seen enough from opening rounds to confirm that ''raising the floor" and playing senior players to be more competitive is not better an approach as playing the kids and who cares what happens. We're either fighting it out for the spoon putting games into nothing players, or we're borderline tanking by risking the same result going with an inexperienced side. Youth over experience for mine.

I'd be dropping Owies well before I dropped Hamish Davis based on what I saw today. Not sure why he's the latest target. At least Davis can kick, mark & run.

Outs:
Owies(Ommit.), Hunt(Ommit.), Long(Ommit.), B. Williams(Managed), A.Reid(Managed)

Ins:
Petch, Johnston, Ryan, Flynn, Waterman

Ginbey, Hough, Maric, Brock are more than enough height in there to cover Curnow, Silvagni & Kemp.

McKay is probably still dealing with his 'personal issues'. Curnow isn't fit and is out of form. Kemp relies on 'Joe the goose' goals. Their smalls are mud. Owies somehow being their best last year says enough.

West Coast by 50.

is Barnett still playing predominantly as a backman?

Yep, doing a bit of ruck work but going by what he said on Coast to Coast during the week he's not about to put his hand up to ruck again at AFL level anytime soon. Likes playing down back.

Long - Petrucelle
Cole - Johnston
Owies - Waterman

Thin ice Allen, Duggan, Hunt and Brockman
