Round 5 Venting and Discussion

I’m sitting at 300/4 from Duursma, Rocky, Grundy & Drew.

Four very popular players other than Drew the other three have all been below par.

(C)ogs, Whit, Williams in the first game today. Need this trio to go huge to get a respectable score this round.

Hope ZWilliams finally shows some decent ceiling.

Hope Whit gets one more week of running around by himself because he will definitely be tagged next week. He needs to cash in here, I almost captained him.

(C)ogs please return to your round 1 form. I declared him a top 3 mid after that performance but he has since been underwhelming compared to Cripps/Trel. Actually a little nervous about Cogs despite his good history against Fremantle, just get the feeling he will have that 80-90 score today...Hopefully Ward OUT gets him more time in the midfield.

So I'm starting to think that the decision to back Darling in for another week was a poor one. He's been a good POD, only problem is that the POD is that he's scoring sub 50 scores

I think if you've still got Darling you may as well hold him. He's a gun player but has just been in horrible form (and shocking delivery into WC forward line). If he comes good, nobody will have him so you'll be laughing. If you trade him out now you just realise the losses.

Taranto has been a great pick so far. Priced at 91 to start the season, averaging 113 so far. I picked him expecting he would improve to ave 105, and I deemed that good enough value to warrant selection. Needless to say I'm stoked.

Yeah 18 is a real kick in the guts so I don't blame you for wanting to boot him.
I'm trying to take Selby's advice and that if you want to rise up the rankings, you can't do that if you just keep chasing the players that everyone else above you has. Darling needs to show some form before I consider trading him in, but he showed his potential last year and once the Eagles midfield clicks into gear he should resume some decent scores.

Yeah Taranto will be good all year now, will even match it with Cogs and Jelly. I traded him last week purely because Ward and Kelly were back in and then Ward injured in first quarter. Had Sheed OUT all week and then switched to Taranto. Think I just traded another potential top 8 (or very close to it) mid.

Super nervous about my side.. feel I still have way too many rookies on field compared to others. Need to upgrade next week.. probably Rozzee and Butters gone? Maybe Merret if I can afford it but a Forward premium might be more necessary

Same feelings...desperately hoping for a Miers late out. In fact I don't mind anyone in my fwd line, including Danger, being a late out just so I get Petro's score. Would be a huge boost since most don't have Petro (E)

If Petrucelle can tone up in a ten goal loss surely there's some sort of hope for Parker!

Who am I kidding, right now I'd jump at a 60 from Parker. I don't have Petruccelle and I know if Parker doesn't play a lot coaches will get Petrucelle's score and I don't want that!

I would love to get Will Hayes in next week, but I have Walsh, Drinkstable, Stack and Ross. None of them are downgrade options yet. Hately is another who's job security will be good if he performs with Ward out for the year.

With Lunchmeat on the bench I'm fielding 8 rookies this week, gut feel is to get the fwd rooks off the field 1st but if Clark and Parker score reasonably well (who am I kidding?)then I'll have enough dosh to bring Hurn in, or Sheppard if they don't. Having said that I've watching Marshall and Daniel very closely this week

Who've you got?

I'm in the same boat, though feeling confident about my cash on the bench which will be cashed in soon with a new crop of rookies coming through.

DEF: Duursma, Scrimshaw, Hore (Clark, Wilkie on bench)
MID: Walsh, Constable, Ross (Scott, LDU)
FWD: Drew, Rozee (Setters, Burgess)

I think the crunch period for those like me with several rookies in field will be to start getting some downgrade/upgrade cycles through the next 2-3 weeks.
