Beau Waters keep or trade?
Rory Laird, trade or leave?

I'm tempted to miss the boat on Laird whilst my Portlets are still doing ok and sideways Beau to Pearce Hanley or Hartlett (Backing him in to bounce back this week) and then downgrade Wines to Lonergan and upgrade to SJ next week.

That would mean that I still have to bring Bryce and Cotchin back into my team at some point and with 217,000 sitting in the bank I can't see the merit of making another downgrade this week when the Port lads should still score fine.

I suppose the next question, who do I get in for Beau Waters? Presuming that I want to try and avoid a round 13 bye player which is frustrating as that is where all the options are!

Cotchin ---> Sideways trade to a premo (thinking Bartel for DPP but also Daisy, Swallow, anyone really)

In all seriousness though, go with Waters->Vlastuin and sideways Cotchin to the best mid you can afford. There is no guarantee ether of them will be back next week and you'll be kicking yourself if they aren't.

Done the exact same thing, I figured upgrading elsewhere can wait it this year you can't really afford to have points sitting on the bench like the Gibbs injury last week

You'll have cash from your Waters->Vlastuin trade to make a backline upgrade next week. As you already have Kennedy, I think Lonergan may be the only decent rookie on the bubble next week (he's a mid). Def-wise there are slim pickings...maybe Sierakowski from the Kangaroos?

Depending on exactly how much cover you have in the backline I would do Stevenson > Laird but if you are already carrying a couple of Goodes, Pittard, Gibbs, then perhaps Dwyer > Black is preferable

Traded Gibbs (couldn't trade him last week) to Ablett and also brought in Tom T Lynch, who I'm hoping will destroy the Giants and be a stepping stone to a premium forward. A risky trade that last one, but he's had 3 good scores in a row and is playing the Giants.
