I've gone:

ANB - Ronke
Holman - Merrett

300k in the bank and Coffield on the chopping block next week.

Someone on here had a "never again" list. Please kindly put Alex Neal-Bullen on that list for me and never take him off it. What a s*** c***!

Avoided the carnage meaning I'm stumped for about 50 different trade permutations.

On the chopping block:
DEF: (Coffield)
MID: Holman (Banfield/Brayshaw);
FWD: Young/English

Brackets denotes bench players.
Note: When I trade Coffield I'll be switching Finlayson from mids to def and bringing in a midfielder.
Bolded are my priority trade outs.

The only thing I'm sure on is I'll be doing the traditional 1 up /1 down trade.

Players I'm considering this week:
Premos: Bont (mid), Taranto (fwd or could get him in mid temporarily).
Rookies: Mutch/Ronke/Spargo.

So my options all boil down to:
Holman -> Bont/Taranto
Young -> Ronke/Spargo.

VERSUS:
Holman -> Mutch/Spargo
Young -> Taranto.

Originally I was bringing in Bont/Ronke. But now I'm leaning toward Mutch/Taranto.

My head hurts. Anyone care to take a punt at my best bet?

I was a Ronke and Taranto and now im a Mutch and Taranto man, dont know if that helps or not.

Confused this week

Holman to Ronke Locked.

few options for second trade

English to Smith
English to Bontempelli
L.Fogarty to Taranto
Banfield to Mutch (allows for double upgrade next week)

Yep, certainly does thanks.

My mindset on Ronke V Spargo V Mutch has changed alot through the week.

Currently:
In a perfect world I feel like Ronke has the highest ceiling of all 3 rookies on offer, but his JS is probably the worst by far. When Franklin/Hanners returns he's probably gone.

Ditto Spargo (assuming he even makes the team today).

My gut is Mutch has the best JS of all 3. Named on field. Dons in a shambles looking for answers and to breath life into their squad.

Choosing Mutch of these 3 sort of decides my other trade as being Taranto.

I think I'm settled!

That is.. unless we have a spanner in the works this afternoon like Coffield bring dropped!

Traded ANB to Taranto after Rd 1 - my best move of the year so far!

That is basically my thinking as well. Mutch named on wing is nice. My team looks better with Ronke for some reason, but Mutch gives me Taranto forward instead of MID (which really makes no difference).
I would love to do a double downgrade this week, but I think there is alot of value out there. Probably can wait 1 more week on Ronke and maybe go English - Ronke or Waterman - Ronke next week.

Devon the only likely top 6-8 of those.

Yeh Ronke on field looks far better than Mutch or Spargo for some reason. Might just be the Swans jersey?

I'm always wary of the double downgrade approach. Alot can happen in a round of football (eg injuries to premos). Double downgrade gives you a warchest yes, but then if you cop an injury you're suddenly carrying a warchest for 3+ weeks.

Better to just stick to the 1 up/1down approach every week I think. Missing $20 - $25 on Ronke or Spargo is not the end of the world.

I've currently got 300k in the bank even doing the 1 up/1down approach. So even with an injury to a premo I can still get 1 upgrade done on any given round.

Unlikely IMO

Gray
Heeney
McLean
Franklin
Devon
Menegola
Greene

all should definitely be ahead
For me Greene has missed too many games, Average is one thing, but overall points i look at just as much. I dont think he will score more than Taranto in total point as he will be 4 games behind.
Westhoff would probably be a chance to be a top 6 as well.
He will be on the verge of cracking it but probably looking at that list wont make the 6. Even Mitchy Robinson could crack that 6, Devon seems the most vulnerable of that list.

300K is nice to have in the bank. I rarely do a double downgrade but every time the next week comes around i always wished i had more cash in the bank, Like i know i will next week, but cannot go past some of the bargain buys this week, and 1 extra week on some of the rooks to cement their spot wont be the end of the world.

Can't argue with that list as the premos to have at the end of the year.

But when you factor in:
Gray - Round 10 bye and China game imminent.
Franklin - injured
Menegola - inconsistent when the guns are in
Green - injured, and can get reported.

At this fork in the road, you'd have to concede Taranto is likely to put more points on the board for your team by the end of the year than at least one of these guys (possibly all of them considering how his start to the year has been).

Guilty as charged

Barring any late suprises it seems like a fairly easy trade week for me

Holman > Mutch
Finlayson > Seedsman

Thinking of a double downgrade to bank some cash:
Holman > Worpel
English > Crossley
