Round discussion starts on Monday when MRP results come in. I can deal with Tuesday at the absolute latest when we have the injury reports come in. We need a discussion thread to discuss these hot topics with regards to how they affect us this specifically to the round we're in. The Injury and Suspension thread is very different.

Let me explain...

Scenario: NicNat given a 1 week suspension

Injury and Suspension thread:
person A: "NicNat was given a 1 week suspension" *link to post on AFL.com*
person B: <quotes above> "That is bs, very soft"

Round Discussion thread:
person A: "With NicNat suspended for a week I'm looking at a donut this week in my rucks"
person B: <quotes above> "Suck it lol. Tim English saves the day for me"

The impact of the rd 7 incident goes beyond the rd and is of relevance to rd 8, though.
Like saying Kelly did his groin rd 4 or whatever it was, ergo you can't utter his name in rd 8 thread, as it's clearly of rd 4 origin.
Logic doesn't stack up, no?
Don't have a dog in the fight, just seems flawed reasoning.

I reckon 99% of posters on this board would be happy with the round discussion thread opening on the morning after the last game of the previous round.

It's a bit ridiculous that the mere act of starting a round discussion thread is causing so much consternation on this board.

The traffic in the injuries thread has slowed down since it was pinned, if the thread was left to float I'm sure we'd see more discussion taking place.

I think it makes it much easier to find information about injuries if the injuries thread only contains reports and updates about the actual injuries instead of them being lost among discussions about how they affect the upcoming round. Discussions which can much more appropriately take place in the round's discussion thread.

It's a fair point, I'm definitely guilty of often choosing the wrong thread or double-posting if I think it's important enough and I think some people might only read the trades thread or discussion, and sometimes not even posting out in the injuries thread where it really belongs. It's inflationary for sure.
