I would give polly another week, unless they are sure he is 100%

I would bring in Jlo and drop smith. Give schammer another week in the WAFL.
If hille comes up and gets off i would take 211, if he doesn't then it's abit iffy.

Polly play ?

Nah CC is playing games. forcing sheedy to look for another tall. Knowing full well he doesnt have one.

Polly is going on another trip to Melb is all. He gets lonely without his mates :D

Imo. Jlo in walker 'didnt come up' ( but he will get to see his family)

Polly trained all week though - looked fit to me
Walker was cleared mid-week to resume as well, going make it bloody diffilcult to drop someone from last week...

IMO

In: Longmuir, Polak
Out: Johnson, Smith

You can't drop Walker or Siegert after last weeks efforts.

Uh! I just sat up straight.

Sh1t.. I wouldnt have thought polly would be ready. Hope your right.

The rest also makes sense.

I'm a fan of MJ but he still looks a bit light in the shoulders. Smith hasnt done anything wrong. But you get that. Walker will be playing game 88 (?) straight and siegert has turned into scary HBF. (career best form) :D

Thanks plugga good that some can get to training. gives better perspective on the players.

Whats the story with Schoey?

For memory he came back a couple of weeks back from his injury in the WAFL, is he far away or not in your 22 at present?

He played his first senior game in the WAFL last week, kicked 2 goals and looks on target for the Hawthorn game next week. It's just a matter of getting him match fit atm I would assume.

McManus and Schofield would both be in the same queue for the midfield .... With Macca being slightly ahead!

Both of them don't have much footy left in them and so I'd give Schofield a bit of a go ahead of McManus just to prove himself. Schofield has what Macca seems to lack, skills under pressure. Will be interesting to see if Macca makes in back IMO, as much as we all love the nuggety bastard!

I'd say the queue would also contain youngsters, Smith (presuming he's dropped this week) & Schammer & even Browne when match fit.

McManus is a long way behind in my reckoning....will get a stack of the ball at Wafl level to prove his worth, but his skills have only marginally improved in the 10 years.

IMO..in order, Schammer, Schofield, Smith, McManus, Browne...so pending injury it's doubtful Browne or mcmanus will play a game this year>?

They'll be wanting to give young Dunny a run or two over the season - he was a Top 10 pick, he's a Vic, he's out of contract at the end of the year... they'll want to see if he has "it" or not pretty soon, or else he'll be wanting out to a club "back home" that will give him more opportunities. He came to us with a fair few nice looking credentials as a junior, but seems to have slipped way down the pecking order. But I digress.

Don't think Schammer will make the 22, but whoever gets dropped to make way for Longmuir and (possibly) Polly will be unlucky.

What's more, apparently Polak added another 3kg during his layoff. That would make him about 92kg now.

My thoughts on Polak August 2004.

Some insights from others in this Graham Polak thread. Superfraser does have an interest in our forward line  Freo supporter about to come-out?

Well spotted.

All to often when he should be playing on he freezes which gives the opposition time to man up.

Good decision making doesnt come naturally to some people. But if he gets coached in this area he will reach his high potential.

I like Polak's hard at it approach. I'm still sceptical about his decision process. We have won the last three games without him. Whenever he gets the ball I yell " do something... just effen do it !" I'd rather a reasonable player with a good brain than a highly skilled player who makes bad decisions. It worries me that he might play against the bombers on Sunday. This percieved mental fragility will be highlighted if Polak freezes with his 1st few possessions. I hope our coaching staff have been working on him. If not then we may have a week link.

Kick it long Polly :D

I was very surprised when I read that. He's probably only put on 7-8 kilos in 4 pre-seasons but managed to add 3kg in a month. Great news though. Not sure if he'll play and if he does he will probably spend a lot of time on the bench.

I'm sure they would be looking to get Dunn a few games and half back seems to be his best position, but Mundy, Grover and Siegert are now ahead of him so I'm not sure where he will fit in. My gut feeling is that he will go home at seasons end.

Shaun McManus has been a great servant of the club but would be well back in the pecking order at this stage. If our form continues and we have a good run with injuries I think he'll come back into the side late in the season for a farewell game at Subiaco and retire at seasons end.

Good to hear Schofield is not far away and I think he would be in your 22 when fit. He gave good service to Port, he was probably ambitious wanting a 2 year contract extension at the time.

Although I must take you to task as far as Schofield and "skills under pressure" ;)
Quite the opposite I would say, although when he gets plenty of space your forwards can expect the ball lace out.

A couple of players are under-done and it going to be a hard crunch game with the Bombers. Freo should have gone in with Smith, smaller ground and he is good in under.
