Ill start it off this week ...

Cox (If White can dominate Griffen and get plently of the ball imagine what Cox will do against him next week)

Other option would be Buddy (vs Melbourne) ... but for consistency ill probably go with Cox

Shaw, Heath- vs. Geelong. Solid scores of 89 and 115 against them last year. And the Cats allow some backman points

Newman, Chris- vs. Essendon. Been in dazzling form in last 2 weeks. 140 & 121. Add to a 162 and a 101 from last year, and Newman looks tasty as a smoky. Although, Essendon don't get the ball into their forward line much, so he might struggle a touch

Dal Santo, Nick- vs. Brisbane. Will get Sherman on him, who has done two good jobs in the last 2 weeks. But he has an average you cannot ignore, 151 in last 5 games against the Lions. Including an average of 170.5 in 2006.

Cornes, Kane- vs. Sydney. Will pick up Kirk/Goodes. Struggled in Round 2 this year against them. But has previously picked up some decent scores

Mitchell, Sam- vs. Melbourne. 131 in Round 1 against the Dees. Been in good form

Cox, Dean- vs. Adelaide. Gonna pick him up this week. Scored 146 this year against them. Up against Griffen who got dominated by White this week. Averaging 147 in last 2 games. And big against Adelaide in the past

Brown, Jonathan- vs. St. Kilda. Coming off a good week. Scored 135 against the Saints last year, and 128 the year before. Will be hard to stop

Franklin, Lance- vs. Melbourne. Destroyed them for 139 in Rd 1. Coming off 2 big scores. Bookmark him for another big one, but hope his inconsistency doesn't kick in, with Buddy not being able to string 3 good games together yet.

Pavlich, Matthew- vs. Carlton. Waite will go with him, as he did with Brown this week. And if not Jamison. Good form. Hard to stop

Rieowldt, Nick- vs. Brisbane. If he's back. Will get taken by Patfull. When he plays Brisbane healthy, he seems to be able to get big scores, the highest being 202.

Deledio, Brett- vs Essendon. Second smoky of the week. Big scores against Essendon last year. Could come good.

In order:

  1. Dal Santo
  2. Cox
  3. Brown
  4. Newman
  5. Riewoldt
  6. Franklin

Ablett against a very unaccountable Coll would be the GO.

Only concern with Cox is that injury that could flare up anytime during the game.

He has only been avg. 80% game time the last few weeks (is that normal for a ruckman?)

Ill stick go with him though as I want to try something different as the like of Goodes, Corey & Cross have not pulled in a huge one whilst I have had them captain.

After my less than brilliant captain selections recently (capped of beautifully by Mr Shaw) I'm just going to go Bartel every week from now on.

aah, thats a weight off my shoulders.......

Tend to agree with you there Sparts my man! :thumbsu::D

I also echo those sentiments about Cox. The beauty of the guy is that he'll always get a decent score unless injured due to the amount of hitouts he gets. The combination of him being really quite good around the ground and all the other ruckmen in the competition being as quick as a sloath doesn't hurt either.
Statistically he has the highest average in my team so that would make him the safest choice, although Dal Santo with his new found form could be due a look-in.

Smokey for those who have him... Sandilands.

Carved up Blake against Geelong and scored 172 and up is against Blues with Ackland in the No.1 Role (*scoff*)

Good call. I can see Sandilands getting 150 + points against Hackland! :p

im going either

Richo- he has averaged 130 aginst the bombers in the last five games

Brown- he has scored over 100 in the last three games the saints and seems to be back in form

Mitchell - playing demons and racked up 34 possies against them last time
