I'm with you on King, give us some agression, punch some Essenscum in the face :)

I will also admit I don't mind King at all.
It's pretty obvious that he is in the side for his pace and tackling.... and pace is the way that the Dons beat people.
Its the same reason White is still in.
IMO King is so much better than White (who is just brainless)..... just that King is not a backman.
Played in the foward line (pressure tackler and actually not a bad kick for goal) and ocassional tagger/pest, he has some value whilst our list is lacking depth and quality.
To suggest Relton was ever an option this week is just stupid.... he'd puffed out after 10 mins of running.

Predicting a big game from Martin, and Foley.

How bad is Morton going to not be able to get a game in front of King? Must have upset DH/Dimma big time?

I was wondering what has happened to Morton? Is he injured?

no, not injured i dont think.
i went and saw him play last week for coburg, and he was absolutely shit!
im a massive fan of mitch and i hate when his not named in the snr side

Hi folks! First time poster long time supporter.
I was searching for info on why Morton was still out which brought me to this forum, which i must say seems full of intelligent football comment!
Back to Morton. I would have thought he has suffered long enough and learned his lesson on following team discipline by now, to warrant his place in the team. IMO he is one of the few hard nuts at the club, which are desparately needed to support all the young fellas and their young bodies. I know from reading the posts that King isn't nunber one on everyones selection list, but he too offers a bit of grunt and guts (maybe not always clear thinking) which is what we need (particularly against the Dons) to allow the new boys to settle in to the feel and pace of the game. Anyway thanks for having me in the forum and GO TIGES!!

For all of you bagging JK, have you bothered to look at his form at Coburg.
He is in the best players week in week out and has shown more consistancy than some of our more fancied players. I'm no huge JK fn but he has earn't his spot and adds that bit of agression we need against the cocky Bombers - rather JK than Tom 'turnover' Hislop.

Have to agree with you, stresses the message that if you have form, you will get a game. That said, JK has only marginally (arguable) better disposable than Hislop and Hislop is the younger of the two by far. That said, a move to the forward line this year in Coburg has seen him hit that form you speak of, we'll see.

(Queue long list of JK haters saying "HE ONLY PERFORMS IN COBURG")

FACT: No one else, especially not Mitch Morton whose form has been horrendous, deserves to be in this team, real shame Jacko is out.

Just a disclaimer:
I do not see him or Hislop as the future of the club, if he has another brian fade I'll call for his blood and, at least by playing him he might have some trade value come years end.

Wonder what our average height is this weekend. Would nearly have to be the shortest and lightest fielded team in history. Nason, King, Cousins, Foley, Webberly, Nahas, Farmer, White, Edwards. Midget galore.

I strongly believe as well as quality talls we need more midfielders/flankers that are in the 185-190cm region with bigger bodies WHO CAN PLAY as the list is lacking in that area. Just too small all over the park you can only carry so many. That is way too many....

Our average height for this week is 186cm. The league average is around 188cm or 189cm.
Our average weight this week is 82.8kg per player.
We are certainly smallish, but not horribly small.
I expected worse.
But remember Barnzy, it's fight in the tiger, not so much the tiger in the fight.

Matt Dea was no doubt targeted for this role. Injured at the moment, hopefully we see some more of him later in the year.

ha HAAA!

folks I think this announces BigFooty and in particular ME as a mainline tactical brainstorm source for coach Damien Harwick, who it seems is FINALLY going to give my - play short and kick the thing along the ground game plan.

Now this is a game breaker that will shift recruitment strategies for years to come, Basically we just hack the ball in the direction of goals and our little lads run onto it, pick it up, run around defence, kick goals. Well thats a bit simplified, but you get the gist.

I believe that he is trialling the plan at this time because
a) Jacko - who everyone always accuses of hacking the ball, is out, so that Knighter will be least expecting the midget attack, and
b) he needs to show some tactical smarts to make up for loosing every single game so far, also
c) he hates tall people.

Even without Jackos long bombs vaugely in the direction of a forward, we will be able to give good ground based service towards forwards through Tucky - the AFLs no 1 clearance machine (sometimes) and Martin, who as you all know, can do anything.

ff Nahas King Edwards
hf Nason Reiwoldt White

there is too much leg speed there for any defence, who will be made look foolish by our quick attacking midget brigade, further inspiring the rest of the squad.

Reiwoldt is there because a) he is too short to play KPF so we keep hearing, and b) to provide reassurance that it is a forward line and c) to direct the short people towards the goals.

A bit of a change for our backs, who particularly like to try to kick the ball in the air, but that hasnt really been working out, hopefully they will mostly just watch and occasionally sign some jumpers around the fence as our short people reinvent the game, and when they do get a chance, well we can implement a minimidfield and they can send a grubber up, hopefully landing somewhere near Cuzzy or Foley, (and bouncing no higher than their knees or a larger opponent may be able to get it) who in turn can run to space, then, kick to space too. A grubber, that they can run on to and further harrass opposition defence by providing support and trip hazards allowing Nason to send a worm burner in to a leading Kingy!

spewing I have to listen to my own game plan's debut on 2CA perhaps Ill head down to the Ainslie fc to watch on the big screen
(which will be too big for this one)

Carn the Cubs!

DH has said that Astbury and Griffiths are going to be developed as our KPF, So i dont think we will use the forward line you put there. But it was very well thought out.
