I remember the Sth Korea game played in Hong Kong as it was in our time zone at night.

There must've been games on the ABC because that's all Woomera had in 1974. TV was only black and white then, but I remember the Socceroos yellow and green strip, so maybe I saw that later on the Newsreels at the pictures.

The ABC had the rights, and they showed the games live, mid arvo Europe time, but I don't think they played the replays in prime time. I didn't watch the games live. I can't remember watching any replays. I remember edited packages.

If Germany was on summer time then a 2.00pm start would've been at 9.30pm in South Australia, so yes, probably too late for 10 year olds ;)

I remember watching the games we played against Israel as well but not sure if they were live.

watched all the Australia games and a few others including the final. As a Pom who came out here in ‘68 it was great to see the final live as we had almost no coverage of the 1970 tournament. My only memory of that was a Scottish mate waking me up with glee after Brazil beat England.

Its the only final I haven’t watched live since 1966.

A soft, pathetic penalty. Take nothing away from two sublime passes from Messi that got the first goal and almost a second a while earlier. Or his cold clinical delivery of the shot.
