Interesting with so many in form forwards, the ruck dilemma not resolved, and the backline in indifferent form. Heres my rough and ready take on it.

Definite starters
Pendlebury
Swan
Fasolo
De Goey
Greenwood
Treloar
Blair
Adams
Brown
VArcoe
Sidebottom
Crisp
Moore
Cloke

So thats 14.....what about the other eight?
Will be from....
Frost should get a gig ahead of Reid who will probably need a VFL game
Grundy or Witts or both (probably only one, on balance I may prefer Grundy)
Ramsay (may be a certainty????)
Maccaffer
Aish
Marsh
Gault
Sinclair
Toovey
Langdon
Maynard

Selecting that last seven will be very interesting!!!!

Elliot Howe Shaz and Goldsack injured....cant see any others in the line for a game.

Langdon should definitely be dropped after today's performance. So should Sinclair. Both were awful.

Cloke is a lock because hes Cloke. Argue till youre blue in the face but this thread is about who will be selected not who you want selected and I'm pretty sure most will agree that he will start.

Langdon was poor today but somebody has to be picked to play defence, be that Toovey Maynard Sinclair Williams (who will play but is rusty) Reid Marsh etc. Hence the thread title dilemmas. Langdon will be in the frame but is not a lock.

We have good dilemmas forward and in ruck and not-so-good dilemmas in defence. Short term anyway.

Woeful. Can't play Sinclair and Marsh in the same side. Shocking kicks in the same backline.

Really? Sinclair? He was one of our best defenders today. Not sure how he could be labeled awful. Marsh was poor with his kicking today though.

Of the small defenders so far Ramsay and Sinclair are really the only two I have any real confidence in so far.
Reid is a lock if available for round 1.
Aish should also play as part if our midfield rotations. Can never have to many mids especially since his decision making and kicking is very good.

Maybe but is Grundy also in? And if so is Gault out?
I think both Witts and Grundy round 1. Swans will have tippet/sinclair combo.

Not sure on Gault. But he almost has to play also....i know we would go in tall but so be it

Weirdly he had a 94.1% disposal efficiency for 73% game time, had 6 marks and 17 disposals.

And still managed to look awful! But maybe there's a lot of off-the-ball stuff we're not seeing that makes him more valuable.

I think I read on the running AFl commentary he had a game high in intercepts

Grundy AND Witts. Sinclair. Maynard. Aish. Maccaffer. Ramsay a certainty. Toss a coin for last one.

We get too hooked on disposal efficientcy it seems. Yes you can rid of the ball to your opponent but when you put him under so much pressure it results in a goal what's the point. How can that be measured as efficient?

Pretty much my point. Was a few times when Sinkers actually had the anti-Midas touch. But with all of his faults, he still has pace, heart and great attack on the ball.

Yep. It doesn't take a genius to release who was poor today then you will have these numbskulls trying to defend them yes they had disposal efficiency. Don't want to hear it. Sinclair Langdon Marsh were bloody shocking!

I'm not at all convinced by Marsh as much as I want him to develop. Is he really a defender?

Do you know who would really improve our kicking efficiency in the back half? Travis Cloke. Good callo_O
