Our first five games of 2012 I can see us starting as outsiders in all but one of them , we'll start favs against brissy.
With those kind of odds what would be a pass mark be, 2 or 3 wins out of our first five games of the year?

My tip is 2 of 5.Pass.
We'll beat brissy and should roll the saints.

Have faith my son - we get up for games against Geelong. We've even had a full summer of goal kicking practise for our forward line .. novel!

Depends on the nature of the losses.

3 wins = pass
2 wins + playing competitively = pass
2 wins and getting smashed in the others = fail.

Geelong - Win - first game should get them before they have a chance to blow the cobwebs out.

Sydney - Win - A repeat of last season I think

Brisbane -Win - In a canter over one of the spoon favorites

St Kilda - Win - If Lyon thought we were easy beats nobody should know the saints weaknesses more.

Carlton - Win - After the pitiful performance we dished up in our last outing against them I feel we will put things right out of self respect.

Swans & carltank will be the hardest to win IMO.
I'm really interested to see how Lyon will try and neutralize betts & garlett.

He's going to tag one with Keplar, just for a laugh, and the other with Sandi.

In seriousness reckon will rely on team defense, haven't got anyone you would be sure could keep em out of it.

Geel (h) loss
Syd (a) loss
Bris (h) win
Saints (a) win
Carl (h) win

But optimistic rather than confident about last two, we could be 1-4

In thinking a slow start with 2-3
Geelong - Loss
Sydney - Win
Brisbane - Win
St kilda - Narrow Loss
Carlton - Loss

Without Mundy, Barlow and Mora missing I think we won't go so well early days but I'm expect a massive run home after the bye when you look at the fixture.

I can't see how we are going to beat Geelong with the midfield we'll put out on the park in Round 1. But I guess we have done OK against them at Subiaco in the past few years.

I reckon we might win 2 out of our first 5. If we can win 3 games it would be a great start and set us up for a top 4-6 finish looking at our draw.

You want to split the results as a minimum against similarly or better rated teams. So 2 from 5 would be ok as a pass mark. we are a some sort of chance in all of those rounds.

The pre-season form the Cats have shown makes me less confident in rd 1 than I had been, but I think we have been specifically gearing to start the season on a strong note, so for me it is 45/55 win/lose.

The rest are games I think we are more likely to win than lose, but only marginally. We have a coaching edge against Saints and Swans as we have poached people from them, and that gives me a little extra optimism.

By the sounds of the training repotts none of those guys have been ruled out.mora to play wafl but wouldn't be surprised if mundy and barlow play, barlow is a lock in for rd1 i reckon. barlow, fyfe,de boer, muzungu, hill, balla, crowls and mundy sub is a midfield that can beat the cats.

I'd probably rate us as a chance to win the Brissy game and possibly Carltank based on their poor pre-season form and the fact that I think they're a bunch of downhill skiers.

Sandi's calf injury is a real worry IMO.
If sandi plays round 1, I'll be whole lot more confident of beating the cats.

I reckon Brisbane will be a harder prospect than most make out..However I think we'll still win. As for Carlton we don't have to neutralize Betts or Garlett we just have to outscore em!

I'm being optimistic I suppose but ill go for an 80% win rate with Fyfey dominating. Losing our opener to Geelong and winning the next 4!

Dont think Sandy not playing would worry us to much(obviously better if he does) as Clarke and Griff should be able to handle West and Stevenson ???

Our midfield will be really underdone in the early couple of rounds so not expecting too much at all. Hopefully we don't get smashed early and our confidence drops cos then we could very easily find ourselves struggling after round 5.

I'll be very happy with anything better than 1-4 win/loss, I'd be ecstatic with 3-2.

We might start outsiders in all the games but I don't see any reason why we can't win them all.

Here's how I sum it up based on win/loss

5-0 dream start
4-1 fantastic start
3-2 pass mark
2-3 average
1-4 ordinary
0-5 ****ing dreadful

Bit more confident about Geelong now watching their A team in the NAB. They are hopelessly rusty. THeir kids put on a much better show. Still it's 3 weeks away yet. I'm sure Scott will have them sharp by then.
