There was a distinct air of disbelief in Gold City this afternoon, as club co-captain and alleged Mr Nice Guy The Filth Wizard attempted to drop MrPremiership from the much vaunted Royals "Stacked Six".
The backline of the Royals had seen a drastic overhaul in Season 30, with quality, experienced players Blacky, Kennedy Parker, spookism, Noobz0r, Smartys Power and MrPremiership all behind the ball. This has directly resulted in the Royals best ever start to the season, culminating in them deservedly labelling themselves premiership favourites as at Round 6.
Off-field it has also seen a vast improvement in the personal lives of the sometimes-called "Sexy Six". All 6 have been held in the same regard as rockstars, or a peak Ben Cousins. Any given Sunday night, the SS can be seen in the VIP section of various Sweet hotspots, surrounded by leagues of gushing, attractive women. It has often been said that Blacky in particular has never walked taller.
The fact that this in-form defensive unit was so tight-knit has been cause for jealousy from all other Sweet FA clubs. Particularly given any member of this backline could walk into a prime forwardline or midfield slot.
However, this was all thrown on it's head when The Filth Wizard named ShaunDuggan in place of MrPremiership, without any form of warning at team meetings this week. In a particularly bizarre circumstance his co-captain, Kennedy Parker (who has been plying his trade in a back pocket for Season 30) was also given no prior warning. This certainly smells of a power move from an aging warrior threatened by one of best posters of the past season and a half.
In open defiance of his senior partner, Kennedy Parker has submitted an updated official teamsheet containing the original Stacked Six, including MrPremiership. There are whispers that this isn't the only action being taken, and that a separate Leadership Group PM without The Filth Wizard has been created. The strong rumour is that former captain, and newly minted fullback, Blacky is heading a Royals faction looking into replacing The Filth Wizard as co-captain heading into Round 9.
One can only think that this is going to serve as a major distraction heading into an important clash against the East Side Hawks, and that The Filth Wizard has potentially completely misread the temperature of his changing room.
