I believe Michael Warren, though from what I can see he's been used more as a key position player in defence. There's also some rookie named Warnock but I've got no idea on how good he is at the moment.

P.S you forgot we can use Matt Carr in the ruck too :P

We did alright with no ruckmen for most of the game, even with Pav in and not contesting we were still getting the clearances

Polak wasn't too bad but not really a long term option.. hopefully Justin will be right.

We have a fairly decent option in Johnson but he's killing it down back, wouldn't want to move him from there either, perhaps when Haddrill is back..

I don't see it as a problem.

Sandi doesn't give us the advantage that you'd expect.

And if he's not making the absolute most of his size advantage then he actually is a liability in regards to mobility etc.

I expect us to be far more mobile and a quicker side overall now with him out.

It will also give us more flexibility over the ground which is vital these days with match ups taking place all over the ground and being switched and changed to get the right result, whereas Sandi is a one position player.

Absolutely agree with this. Although its terrible to see Sandi go down like that, and I really like the guy in our team, I think that this could turn out to be a great advantage for us. It definitely adds a bit of flexibility to the team, provided JLo is fit. I can't see anyone else who's currently playing WAFL stepping up and playing ruck for us, so if there's not JLo, we could be running onto the paddock with the world's smallest ever ruck division - and GIVING THE OPPOSITION A LESSON!!!

With Sandi rucking the opposition scavengers were feeding off his work resulting in our midfield looking like they are not up to their roles. Yesterday when Sandi went off the roles became reversed and our guys became the scavengers. While not winning any more or less clearences it made our guys react differently to ball ups and throw ins. In some ways without Sandi it could add a harder edge to our midfield because they will know they will have to play more accountable football instead being the hunted we now become the hunters.

Warnock might be worth a shake. Got 22 hitouts last weekend in the WAFL.

Still pretty light though.

I agree , for too long they have assumed that Sandi will win the clearances for them.

A spell without him will make the midfield have to read the opposition rucks.

Cox and Dog Seaby continually tapped the ball to the oppostion Midfielders yesterday.

They should be dropped. :)

Watch out when he is back.

hi was wondering who will ruck with jlo now....polak not great...

were you watching the same game? he is efforts in the last half won us the game. Polly was dead on his feet but keep on going.

If JLo comes up(he'll play no worries), polly will be a usefull back up.

We can call on Elvis with his leap he'll provide a few headaches. elvis is getting cold in the forward.

Also Johnno has played in the ruck before and with his confidence at an all time high, he'll could be a real smokey and sneak under the radar.

There is no panic!!

He might be skinny but He is effective, great skills also , doesn't mind kicking a goal either.

Probably He would be better off left until next year though unless things go really pear shaped ruck wise.

Absolutely. Polly's heart was the size of Phar Lap's yesterday.

Well done young man. :thumbsu:
