Yeah, heard it & gave me a laugh. Agree with Fergus on this one. No way AFC would get the coach from the mob across the road & even if they did, no way Port would trade us the Cornes boys.Originally posted by moses
There is a rumour circulating that mark williams will coach the club next year and bring the cornes boys with him. Any one else heard that

I Heard Chocco wants a long term deal at Port but they won't give it to him. Richmond is prepared to offer him 4 years!!
Gary Ayres, as it will save him from relocating back to Melbourne.Originally posted by maccas_no1
I hope he takes that option then cause I dont want him anywhere near the AFC. So who will Port's coach be then?????

You could do a lot worse than appoint Williams - and I personally think you have. Williams is doing ok at Port and it is just a matter of time before we carry home and away form into finals.
Craigy is your coach now and will be appointed Crows coach for 2005+ before season end. All this talk and propaganda by the club about searching wide and far is a smokescreen - he's got the job and you should accept that and give him your support.

Wildly speculative.Originally posted by Mitch Power

West AdelaideI certainly wouldn't criticise Williams.Originally posted by PAfolwr
You can all laugh all you want about Williams, as at the moment he has what a lot of people see as a couple of flaws. Mostly to do with defensive attitudes in finals and important games.
He has been criticised on all boards on BF, including the PA board, but credit where credit is due please.
To be a coach one has to have many traits and he is not just good but excels in most of them.
All in all he is the type of coach that when he gets things right he is able to reproduce them again and again. No such thing as flukes with him.
There is also no such thing as premiership one year, and then quit the next if the team struggles. He will be there at the front fighting as hard if not harder than everyone else.
From our point of view, if he gets the finals bit right I fully expect to win many premierships with him as the coach and not just one or two. As mentioned above, that is the type of coach he is.
Here's hoping.

Comments IMO was the scepticism that it was a figment of someones imagination and never likely to happen.
What I like is his preparedness to change his coaching techniques/tactics based on what works/doesn't.
Better than a stubborn coach who won't challenge or change his philosophies.
