It's not that we are losing McLean and Bower, TBH I really couldn't care less that we are losing those two. But if Adelaide can demand a first round draft pick for a kid that has played one good game then surely we could do the same for Lucas, why would we have to throw in pick 22. I'd rather keep pick 22 and just give Richmond Lucas and McLean for pick 15. Thats my only reasoning behind.

He was B&F in a VFL grand final side. I'd suggest that if his name wasn't McLean and he wasn't contracted at an exhorbitant price there would be a lot of clubs lining up to sign him a la Duigan and Barlow.

Players drafted out of state leagues have the right skill sets that will transfer across to the AFL. It's not as simple as picking the best players. 26 year olds with a long list of injuries and the pace of Shaquille O'Neal and Magda Szubanski's love child just aren't hot property.

The fact that he couldn't make our side doesn't mean he would not have been a regular in at least another 10 sides this year.

I hope we can trade him to, at least, give him a chance to prove the knockers on this board wrong and if we can I hope he does just that. Still deserves a chance and not likely to get it here.

Played most games this year so just a chance that his injury problems are in the past and therefore perhaps worth the risk. I agreed that his contract would probably preclude anyone wanting him but that's as much our fault than his.

Followed by a Saints article aimed at dismissing the rumor, i find it just a little funny how the Saints, and in particular Pelchin, have attempted to "put that hysteria to bed straight away". I would have thought, when talking about a contracted player, we would have heard words 'under no circumstance' and the like being mentioned. As it was their attempt at putting the rumor to bed. Instead we get..
