I have no issue with Jonas supporting club decisions, and his coach. Career suicide not too. But let's face it, he went beyond that! He actively and gleefully joined in the gaslighting of the "white noise" supporters, and rather than just supporting his coach, he aligned himself with the Sect of Hinkley.

Major contributor to the division that still exists in the club ... He gets no support and sympathy from me.

Exactly. That’s why he won’t be getting my vote.

I'm not really sure this is the gotcha we think it is. Hot take players should be able to do shit during the off season. Even "risky" activities like skiing or mountain biking. If they get injured ultimately they're the ones shortening their careers and earning potential. I'd rather they rock up in good spirits than be miserable.

Nah. Miserable? Too bad, too sad. If you sign a contract, you play to your ability/potential, particularly when signing a long term contract. Risky leisure activities can be done when retired.

Nah that's a boomer take these days. Craig mcrae won a flag on a relatively mediocre list based on vibes.
Our problem wasn't players being allowed to do stuff, it was more the mentality kerny installed that finals are scary and hard and it doesn't matter if you lose.

Boomer take or not the more money that comes the more stipulations will start appearing in contracts re activities away from the club.

You know, Ollie's injury didnt worry me too much ... Young player having fun in the off-season with his mates. Goes too far. Lesson learned, and cops the critism on the chin.

I have even less issues with Jonas going skiing ... Grief! I go skiing every year, and have never had an injury yet, besides a bent ego from time to time!

What is a major issue is that pic & post by Jonas, and the timing of it. He was giving a big middle-finger to everyone that dare question their commitment to football and the club

Right back then we could clearly see what kind of a person he was.

Dennis Rodman was on a squillion a year and they still couldn't stop him flying to Vegas and snorting coke off a strippers ****

Then you had Rodman and Malone doing WWE stuff while on 10mill plus a year

Yeah maybe we shouldn't be basing our expectations for player behaviour off of Kim Jong-Un's best mate and a literal paedophile.

Rodman was/is bat shit crazy, but when it time came to put everything on the line to win he did. Jordan was a harder taskmaster than the coaches. You look at how he treated Longley from not understanding his personality, rather than Longley actually not giving all. If he'd thought Rodman wasn't all in, he'd have busted his arse.

Who can honestly say they think Jonas was serious about a premiership? Rodman 'earned' the right to be crazy, Jonas didn't do anything to justify 'living his best life'.

Yep its the tone for me moreso than the debate about waterskiing.

The tone showed his attitude.

If you look at his career, after we blew our big opportunity in 2014 he should have been absolutely desperate to do everything to get another chance. After 4 years of complete failure he's now in a situation where we can go all in on 2019 with great acquisitions... and arguably our best player is done for the season. He should be incredibly angry, if not with Ollie at least with the situation, and working 10x as hard with his teammates to work out how we're gonna cover for him and win the flag.

Its the words of a bloke who doesnt care about winning, who is way too comfortable skating by in mediocrity. We cant afford that attitude on our board.

The reason I am willing to let it go is Ive heard so much similar crap from others who were indoctrinated by the Hinkley cult. So I find it hard to blame TJ. Attitude can reflect leadership, particularly for young men in their 20s.

Good to see you didn't say what you really thought, 54 ! You could be mellowing out as you age...... :) lol

Wouldn't be my choice also.
IMO Jonas epitomised what the club became during the worst years of the hinkley era (a mere facsimile of what it once was), and as for his `living the best life' BS and his unnecessary comments about club members and supporters I'm hoping the end result of that will be a big  from the majority of those eligible to vote!

When he was eventually dropped to the Maggies after 5 or 6 absolute Barry Crocker AFL games in a row he was still consistently lead to the ball by sanfl journeymen that no one had ever heard of, and when he was reinstated with zero form at the lower level he was immediately targeted by oppo coaches as the weakest link in the Power defence, and exposed!

Regardless of any of the above, his footballing ability (or the lack there of) wouldn't necessarily make him a poor board member, but I believe the last thing the club needs is yet another `yes man' plant installed in one way or another by kokhead, but unfortunately that is what we will probably get.
