Verstappen is making everyone else look terrible and he has shown he is faster then Hulkenberg.Dan's race was over when he signed for Renault last year
They planned for Vettel to be shitty with his own team and park in a place where a safety car would come out?The decision by Mercedes to run mediums in Q2 yesterday paid off in spades today, meant they could run longer in the first stint and allowed them to capitalise when the VSC was deployed.
Sure, Hamilton is incredibly lucky but they made their own luck with that bold call.
I doubt many F1 drivers have that sort of mentality. Most of them (the good ones at least) are hyper competitiveBetter off getting paid a fortune to drive for Renault then watching his career disappear at red bull.imo.
I know I know, still funny thoughYou couldn't fake it with the amount of telemetry the teams have
The fences at Marinello aren't there to keep him inZero sympathy and zero fu**s for ferrari. Too bad vettel is stuck with that garbage team.

He is hyper competitive and he correctly decided red bull wasn't going to challenge Ferrari and Mercedes for a world title before the 2021 changes and then a bunch of seats might open up at both Ferrari and Mercedes.I doubt many F1 drivers have that sort of mentality. Most of them (the good ones at least) are hyper competitive

It should have backfired miserably, they would have ended up 20+ seconds off the pace without Vettel stopping. Mercedes don't really need to be taking these risks, both championships are done.Mercedes were slower than Ferrari all weekend, rather than doing the same thing as them and losing in a straight fight, they put mediums on them in Q2 and hoped for the best. A different strategy didn't pay off in Singapore, but it paid off here.
That's F1.

Literally only a 5 lap window it would have worked in as Ferrari would have again been too close before long.
Could have got the same result starting on softs and just reacting to Vettel's stop.

Max only started in 9th they just lacked the pace to get through the midfield quickly otherwise it would have cost them 3rd.*wears tin foil hat*
Russell was always going to crash when he did with his problem.
Sorry late edit: But they really didn't risk anything. They had options. The Red Bulls were no threat due to grid penalties and just finishing 3-4 would have been good enough to keep the lead.
