You speak the truth. Cook is a disgrace to the jumper. He will never make it. Its just one poor disposal after another, cant hit a target. MM do the right thing and give him the flick.

Cant kick, isnt overly fast, not a natural play reader, uncreative and very lax defensively for a prospective tagger (could of ended tooveys career in the finals with soem good tagging jobs instead did nothing offensively or defensively)

Not on the list in 09

Think the word you are looking for is "never" champ.

Not going to judge him too hastily personally. Yes his disposal has let him down but finals football is a whole new level. Give the guy a go.

Mate at his very best he would be a solid tagger, as he has no damaging weapons.

He played on two slug midfielders in hayes and harvey and was always trailing them to the ball every time. A tagger doesnt give his man at least 5 meters more like 10 to every contest he is competing with tpoovey for a list spot as a tagger and at least toovey wears his man like a glove even if he doesnt touch the ball.
 
He appears to see where the ball will go, and run 5m to the side of that point and continue to follow this path all match. I cannot put my frustration over his performance last night into words
 
Cook is a hard worker and can lay avery good tackle but it's his decision making that worries me. Particularly under finals pressure when he gets the ball his eyes grow to the size of dinner plates as he does his best 'rabbit in the spotlight" impression but hey Didak was outstandingly frightened in his first 2 - 3 years and he got over that. Cox on the other hand is great trade bait for fishing in WA and I believe that is where we will get the best value possible from him. Cook could become a very useful tagger, Cox could get us a good player but I doubt he will ever be one for us himself.
 
Hope he does sort his kicking other than that he will be very serviceable. Give a massive pre-season and he'll be back stronger same for Cox. Just seems Cox is being a massive scapegoat overall it was an insipid effort from all.

I'm not blaming Cox for last nights defeat, I just think that he is a slightly more talented and taller version of Egan. I spent so long defending Egan because (just like Cox) he has real talent, only to eventually realise that he doesn't have the work ethic to make the most of it. We have hung onto Egan to long and I would hate to see us repeat the mistake again with Cox. Trade him now while he still has some value in the marketplace. Maybe if we put a package of Cox, Egan and Toovey together we could get something for the three of them in WA.
 
Could become a solid depth player, and a possible future tagger for us. His kicking sucks; lollipops that fall short of their targets.

I cannot conceive of him ever being in our best 22, and no doubt we massively reached for him at pick #23 in the 2005 National Draft.
 
I have discussed Cox and Cook at length elsewhere in the Forum and don't want to repeat myself other than to say that neither player has anything to offer the club other than mediocrity. Both must go.
