mate, i think almost every sane melbourne supporter would be happy to give both nicho and holland the arse this year and try breeding some young talent, instead of all of our experienced players retiring in 5yrs and no-one with experience being able to fill their shoes.

Today I was thinking about what we'd have to give Brisbane for Mal and this is what I conjured up:

Brisbane > Pick 13, Clint Bizzell
Melbourne > Mal Michael

(we could possibly get a 2nd or 3rdround draft selection too)

I know I will probably be crucified for proposing this trade but I honestly believe this season we showed we can cover The General's spot in our side with Broadbridge and Wheatley able to fullfill similar roles in our defensive structure.

Bizz being a Queensland boy probably wouldn't mind a move north at this stage in his career and Matthew's has been known to pickup players at around 27-29 who have some good years left in them.

Bizz would effectively be slotted into one of Darryl White's or Martin Pike's place in the side as both look like one if not both will announce their retirements within the next few weeks.

As for Mal I think he wants a new challenge.

I like it. And would be prepared to give that up to get him.

A year ago we wouldn't trade Bizz under any circumstances while now he is definately available with the continued development of Paul Wheatley and Troy Broadbridge who can play the same role as Bizz whereas we have no one who has the slightest idea on how to play fullback.

yeh i agree, biz is a leader - he controls the backline and is very good for young guys like jared

Holland although a hack is the best player we have to fill that role at the moment.

We need to trade for a good KPP who can be our 3rd tall up forward.

There is rumour going round that we could get Thurstans off Port along with Dew if they lose Josh Carr as they will then get Thommo to replace him.

No thanks to dew. With bizzels effort on 10 i have no worries in using him as trade bait.

You have to remember we will get less than what Bizz is worth in a trade.

Simple as that.

We are better off keeping him if we can.

A few weeks back I predicted that Bizzell and pick13 go to Brisbane and Mal Michael comes to Melbourne but that now would appear highly unlikely to occur as Brisbane have gotten over Mal's comments.
