Just read on the main board that Adelaide has delisted Ryan Fitzgerald and Richmond and Nth Melb are showing interest. I would we be happy to take a punt on him at low $$ if we can fit him into the SC? Most of us here tend to think that we are 1 tall too short anyway although we a pretty right for ruckmen if we don't get the injury bug again. His history of injury would be a huge punt but throw him a lifeline at say min. salary & $2K a game in match payments and I think it is a gamble well worth it.

Sorry, but i wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, we should be recruiting players not hospital cases.

But he's "due" for an injury-free season! (at least thats what I thought at the start of this season)

Handby

We should be looking to pick up a Crow discard, but not Ryan Fitzgerald, we should be looking very closely at Michael Handby

He was in the same draft as Pettifer and Coughlan, and probably isnt tall enough to play a permanant key position, but could be a good back up who can play forward and back

"He was the Crows' second pick (No. 38 overall) at the 2000 draft after winning All-Australian selection playing for Victorian Metro at the national under-18 championships that year. His progress was halted by a finger injury that prevented him from playing for Glenelg for most of the first half of last season." (from Realfooty 1/8/02)

For memory, there was suggestions of him being a top 10 pick that year, and apparently we were looking closely for a tall defender. Slipped right down the order, somehow to no.38, but perhaps he is worth a go.

Any thoughts?

if news on homewood is true....we now have 8 talls. 7 very good talls and Vardy for back-up.

Get Fitzgerald...get Angwin, and Hewitt ...or Lindsay Smith. O'Farrell...Bourke, Mark Lee, Richard Lounder : anyone.
There are no talls in this draft. It isn't funny. We need some insurance talls. UNLESS WE GET SOME BACK-UP....

We WILL be butchered each and every week if Richo and Stafford fall over ...again.

:(

and before I go....

If my AFL guide is accurate...this is how many talls each club took into season 2002. a tall is anyone taller than 190 cms.

Adelaide- 15
Brisbane - 9
Carlton - 12
Collingwood - 15
Essendon - 14
Fremantle - 14
Geelong - 15
Hawthorn - 10
Melbourne - 13
North - 13 : including U NO HOO.
Port - 16.
Rich - 9...now 8.
St.Kilda - 14
Sydney - 15
WCE - 13
Western Bulldogs - 14

not counting rookies...

BTW : anyone points out Brisbane's stat and I'll point out Voss, Black,Ackers, the QLD sun and the salary cap rule.

I'd rather get a young bloke as we can teach them the Richmond way .
I would'nt pick up brockman as he is a SPACEMAN.as John Barnes calls him...
Handby sounds handy if we can get him for F.A......:) :D

Would Angwin be worth a punt?
How tall is he?
Was a first round draft pick.
Kid apparently has talent just didn't want to live in Adelaide. (nothing abnormal there!)
If another Victorian team besides Hawthorn picked him up, would he put in or continue to sook till he got to Hawthorn?
