And Dogs fans can rest easy. It seems they will get an opportunity to revel in the rewards for several years.

Griffen signed for only two years when drafted, but there is little chance of him moving on after 2006 despite growing up idolising the Crows.

"I'm really happy where I am. I've met heaps of mates. I don't think I'd ever move back to South Australia," he said.

just thought you guys would like an update.

Time will tell. But what would you expect him to say? I hate the place, cant wait to get out of here?

Yeah time will tell. I would expect him to dodge the subject not be so conclusive!

Hard to understand why anyone would prefer Melbourne over Adelaide I know but it does happen!

Mate you have no hope in getting Ryan Griffen. He will be staying at the bulldogs for a very long time, just like Cooney. You not going to steal anything from us ever again. (like you did in 97)

We stole nothing. The best team won that day. The Saints would have hammered you lot.

I remember reading in a yearbook or similar that Nick Stevens wanted to play in Port's first AFL premiership, and the next 5 after that.

Hmmm ok. Whatever you say. Isnt it time to get over that?

Agreed, we deserved to lose that game, you killed us. I would have thought we would have beaten the Saints if we went through though. We were a much better team.

Even if Griffen does want to go home, we can play the 2 Adelaide teams off against each other for the best deal. We wont lose out.

Unless he only will be traded to the Crows.

You have to love the old 'Could of', 'would of ', 'should of' comments, unfortunately they always seem to be followed by the words 'But didnt'.

Who would of thought we would get D Jarman from Hawthorn?

Why would any player leave such a wealthy and successful club like the Western Bulldogs for the likes of Port Adelaide and the financially struggling Adelaide Crows? It’s beyond me.

The Western Bulldogs have a plethora of talent and financial ingenuity to pay theses players after they have won 3 or 4 premiership (or so we hear thats whats going to happen) with in the next 6 years, history tells us that a club like the Bulldogs are simply a struggling organization that has not won a thing in 40 odd years, why is anything going to change now. St Kilda, West Coast, Freo, Swans, Brisbane and Port (both Will be regenerating a list to challenge for a premiership with in 18 months) and the crows have a bright future. Western Bulldogs have a long way to go before they can become a legitimate premiership threat

Ryan Griffin and Adam Cooney may publicly announce that they are going to be a lifetime member of the club but once the Crows and Power are continually play finals in front of 45,000 people and have the opportunity to play in a grand final; is the temptation to stay a bulldog for life going to be there? Players make statements regarding the future of their playing situation all the time, but end up going back on them sediments

p.s go away troll, go stay on your own board....come back when we play you again.

Your attempt at sarcasm completely lost me right here. They do have a plethora of talent and have been underrated all season until now. People are starting to prick their ears up about the Bulldogs because they're showing quite a lot.

Which is completely understandable given Port is the other option!!!

In 2 years time,

Smith, West Johnson and Grant will all be gone and Darcy will be 33, that will leave Cooney, Griffin, Cross, Giansiacusa, Gilbee, Minson, R Murphy and Harris (one KKP the rest are on ball running types)

They have talent but on ball midfielders are very easy to negate with tagger and negative type players that show no disregard to the players welfare.

I don’t rate the bulldogs and last 2 weeks who have they beaten (Geelong and Brisbane)

Geelong are an anomaly of a side every week you can get something different and Brisbane were cherry ripe for a loss, so I don’t see how they can be all excited about a few losses.

You are wrong about your 2 year outlook. Sure Grant will be gone, but based on your assumption and the ages of the guys you mention there will be a few leaving Adelaide in the same time frame. Roo, Edwards, Goodwin, Macca, Hart,.......

You need to look at what you write before you submit......

Look, in the interests of reconciliation I can only hope that one day soon Steven Trigg (or if not, one of our future CEOs) can find it in his heart to apologise to everyone affiliated with the Western Bulldogs Football Club for ripping Barry Standfield away from the Whitten Oval teat.

Sure they were different times then, and I'm sure Malcolm Blight and Bob Hammond thought they were doing the right thing in the interests of the child (a son of the west), but we know now that a deep cultural fissure was opened between our two cultures and has remained a painful issue causing great emotional suffering amongst the Footscray people ever since.

I'm hoping my fellow Crows supporters will follow my lead when I offer you the hand of friendship and say that in regards to the Standfield Generation - I'm truly and deeply sorry.

As of Friday 5th of August 2005 in reality the Western bulldogs are not a premiership threat, the two losses I was talking about (Geelong and Brisbane) in my option flattered your club and gave the supporter a glimmer of hope of success this year but is not going to happen. In 2 years time when the Grants, Smiths, West, Johnson and Darcy are well into there twilight years (not necessarily retired) but not nearly as effect as they are now, you are going to have to fine 4 or 5 KKP, something I do not see happening at your club.

In 2 years time sure the player you mentioned are going to be gone or having very little contribution to the success of the side, but the Adelaide Crows have an opportunity to win now and in the present, not some time into the future.

:D :D

Let me sign the sorry book too.

And we're sorry for taking Shane Ellen, and Kym Koster, and forcing them to be dual premiership players.

Post of the year. Gold :D

If you knew your players, you would know that he lived right out of Adelaide, about an hour away. I'm not surprised that he's happy in Melbourne, Goolwa isn't exactly the entertainment capital of the world. Still, family ties are strong, as well as friends.
Personally, I'd be surprised if he does come back to SA. All that ********s me is that all the great talent in this state keeps getting sent to the miserable failures of Victorian clubs.
