The Roys finished the H&A ranked #6 with a 9-8 record.
The Dragons had the best offense in Sweet with an impressive 1870 points. However the Roys had the better defense. Which will prevail?
Last time they met under cloudy conditions with the Dragons comprehensively beating the Roys by 42 points with a more balanced attack. DJ75 Bradesmaen Pie 4 Life and T2B_ had massive games with over 100 DT points. Zevon lead everyone with 119 DT points.
The Oracle - Captains
serial_thrilla has done an outstanding job leading the Dragons to the #1 ranked team and in prime position to have another crack at a flag after a strong win over the Phoenix in the Qualifying Final. From full back in a dominant team he sees the play in front of him and onfield the Dragons are a well drilled machine. Off the field he wouldn't be hoping for a greater presence in such an important game.
TedDougChris lead the Roys to another finals campaign. The Roys record in finals hasn't always been flash of late but the team got a lot of confidence from a gritty win over the Wazzas before an impressive 21 points win over the #2 ranked Gumbies. Off the field the Roys have been outstanding with the best depth in Sweet and TDC can always be counted on to encourage the troops.
Neo - The One
Bonz with 70 goals to win the Fred definitely has the form and the swagger to be "the one" to lead the Dragons to another grand final. Off field his shoop game has been a strong part of his persona and the Roys are expecting more of the same in the prelim. A big haul from Bonz will make the Dragons very short priced faves.
Mooch kicked 57 goals but his radar has been off this season. However with 7 goals in the semi he will be chock full of confidence and is a big game player that the Roys will have strong confidence in. The Roys will certainly be hoping that the Dragons are Mooched.
Agent Smith - The Antagonist
Neither side are known as being antagonists but who doesn't mind a bit of niggle?
I'd say Blaze Storm is the type of Dragon that would give you a wry smile and then have no hesitation in spitting fire into your face. I did chuckle over this one "I felt guilty about missing most of this week until I realised who we were playing."
Sterge may be new to the Roys but he even managed a drive by on Mobbs "Fun Fact Mobbs wrote the Qooty program during the intermission at the theatre on opening night of that movie." Enough said.
Matrix Burly Brawls - Head to Head
The fans would pay good money to see Ljp86 and Mobbs go head to head. I mean really go at it. Ljp is a man of few words in match threads but when he goes at someone he has a good crack. What could Mobbs say to set him off?!!
Spoon Boy - Next Captain
Having a succession plan is smart business in this serious world of qooty. serial_thrilla has done a great job but who would take over the reigns to continue his legacy and who would step if if the Roys finally managed a successful coup of TDC bot? Reputations are made in prelims.
T2B_ has developed nicely and passed the first step of not stuffing up a team sheet. Plucked by yours truly from the bowels of the Matrix for the Vampires, the avo kid had developed nicely at the Dragons. His match up with hotchilli is described by the critics as "spicy".
Wosh is no stranger to leadership and still has a fire in her carrot infested belly. She has been a strong and positive voice in the Roys LG and responsible for strengthening the Roys bringing in the quality of Lore Sterge and zackah. Part of the famed #WOSHMOBBSDING she will be keen to set up the play leading to a Roys victory.
What does all this mean. The Matrix does what it wants with both teams and decided on a draw. Hell we all know there are sequels.
