One game doesnt make the man, but it's a promising game at that.

It's not just one game though.

Hammer has been very solid since coming back into the team after the Geelong game.

He's coming along very nicely. We always knew it was going to take a while but his development and improvement is clear and there for all to see.

Confidence is also a huge reason for the improvement, clearly he enjoys the added responsibility and pressure of being the number 1 ruckman.

Obviously he has a long way to go yet, but there is absolutely no doubt that he's improving and becoming a very competent player.

I just can't compete with bobsyouruncle who has raised the bar for highlights packages...

Thanks for the plug TG. Been travelling for work all weekend, didn't even get to watch the game . But was getting score updates. Only just saw the replay and am very happy for Hammer who has found a bit of form.

I'll try upload some videos tomorrow.

BTW Saw an awesome number plate in Perth yesterday. Was dark blue with white writing. think it was BLUE95. It had a big Carlton logo on it as part of the plate. Might be a BF member from WA maybe. Would love to get something similar for my car.

VOTED !!!! :)

Although I thought Riewoldt's was more aesthetically pleasing, I guess my opinion is biased.

As soon as Hammer took the mark (which was not far from where I was sitting), I immediately thought of the title of this thread! :D

Yeah, that was a great mark that he took. I just read on the Blues web site that he has been nominated for Mark of the Year, and the article also mentions that he has been in great form. I haven't seen the last two games because I don't have cable, but when exactly did this improvement in form happen? It feels like only last week that he was dropping everything kicked his way and providing nothing to the forward line.

Either way though, it is great news that he is apparently playing well. The more players in form, the better it is for us.

Failed as the 2nd Ruck/Forward (so far) but came back in as the 1st Ruck when Nocka got concussed and has looked much better. ..

Had a solid first game v. Melbourne - HOs and ground work, marking was still atrocious
Followed it up with a great hit out versus Brogan (Port)
and from all accounts continued his good work against Brissy and started taking some grabs. ..

Nocka didn't light up in the VFL so will have to continue in the 2nds and earn his way back in. ..

Hampson keeps himself on big stage with a bag of tricks!

"With ruckmen this year compared to last year … myself and Kreuze or the other boys were playing 60 per cent game time (last season)," he said. "That's lifted up to 80 to 85 per cent game time (this season).

"So we've had to work on our fitness, make sure we can run games out and (improve) our forward work as well because you've got to be able to go forward and help out."

"I'm happy with the way I've been going. I think for the past three weeks I haven't been outmarked so I can tick that off. Probably now I want to grab a few more."

Isn't it amazing what confidence (both self-belief and from others) can do to a player. Well done, Hammer - your past few weeks have been sensational for a 200cm+ ruckman who's only being playing AFL a few years.

Knockers has a huge motor.

Link

Warnock can sprint 20m in 3sec, cover 3km in just over 11min and reach 14.2 in a beep test.

Link

Due to the workload, Warnock struggled with O'hAilpin as his back up and Hampson at less than 100% with his knee.

A break will do him good and have him fresh for the finals.

All without sending him to Arizona to work on his fitness.
