These people on the board are not Port Adelaide people, or even football people, they are business people and they have done well in that department, the only thing is somebody forgot to tell them this is a sporting club that must prevail on the field to be successful.I posted yesterday saying whatever the result, the headline would be about Kenny. The whole Hinkley protection racket makes Trump look like an amateur.
Shame on our board for allowing the Club's heritage to be flushed down the gurgler.
My opinion has always been that if you triumph on the big stage members and sponsors will follow and want to share in that success, members and sponsors means cash flow.
Port went down the opposite track thinking that stability in the footy department and in the finance department will bring on field success, just as they believe hiring from within is an automatic win.
Remember when our club was the envy of others, well we were not that financial but had more members than other clubs, better attendance than other clubs and most of all more respect.
I understand this is the AFL now but we should never have moved away from our beliefs and traditions, the day the club snubbed the fans was the biggest mistake ever.
The second big mistake was to let individuals become bigger than the club itself.
