You haven't seen Riewoldt play much have you? He got dodgy delivery today & wasn't as clean as normal but ****ing hell the boy takes pack marks at 19 years old against men, then takes 3 bounces and delivers it lace out to a team mate. The boy is special. The boy is only playing his 7th game. He's good.
I agree, Riewoldt was a real pain in the ass for the Blues. He was everywhere contesting, getting a tap on, doing things that aren't recorded by the statisticians. I reviewed him as being one of the Saints better players.

The Saints were really hard at it, today. Loved their work eithic.

Carlton's strength over the last 4 or 5 years has been their toughness around the packs, and if a side can match that with them, the Blues are vulnerable.

However, I'd never be stupid enough to wrtoe off the AFL's proudest club, so I won't.

A good even team performance for mine. Nice & hard, not too many dumb mistakes and a good job done in quietening a few of the blues more dangerous players.

I was rapt with Black, Knobel, Riewoldt, Schwarze & Lawrence who between them had barely played 20 games for us, each contributed & the three younger ones in particular will benefit from just having a run in a winning team.

Two areas we can definately improve on are field kicking & taking a contested grab in the forward line. Koschitzke & Riewoldt offer hope of taking some more marks but Harvey, Burke & Thompson really have to ensure that they don't waste great ball getting skills with sub-standard disposal.

I'm rarely happy with the white maggots but I thought we had a reasonable run from them today.

Finally, if carlton wouldn't mind leaving out kouta & whitnall next time we play I'd again be perfectly happy.

Trent Knobel would of been Saints second best as he destroyed Mckernan and Allan in the ruck.

And he's only going to improve once Everett comes back from injury.

Well I was another to tip the Saints...I still think they have a pretty good team even without Everitt, and although Grant Thomas mightn't have the credentials, he certainly appears to be popular with the players.

As for Carlton - I did say after the practice match 2 weeks ago they were woeful and looked underdone. Yesterday did nothing to change that view. Will be at least a month before they are playing anything like their best.
