The game is definitely coming out in 2013 for the 360, PS3 and PC.

The current rumour is an August release, there's no word on a PS4/720 release.

I think a lot of people found SR3 to be a pretty weak game. Sure it was fun for a while but it really devolved from SR2 and went too absurd.

Personally after getting 1 and 2 at launch, I was super excited for 3, pre-ordered and everything. For 4, my anticipation levels are quite low. Will definitely wait for footage and reviews before buying, to see if it's more serious this time and not so easy. No predator missiles and harriers would be a good start.

It was terrible, i liked two but 3 was a parody of itself. I dont have time for an essay on the subject but it was a really bad game

Watch it delayed into 2014, or else GTA V will swallow it and you'll never even realise it got released. Would be idiotic to release it that close to the behemoth

sr3 was fun but it tried way too hard to be something different. it just got absurd. if 4 goes to where saints 2 was and improves that a touch, then we're cooking with gas

but the ridiculous for the sake of the ridiculous? no thank you.

As someone who never played any of the previous Saints Row games, I enjoyed SR3 just for its overall absurdity. I can understand why people hated it if the other games were more serious, though.

I loved SR2 and thought SR3 was pretty good as well with a lot of its over the top moments. It did feel at times like it was trying a bit too hard but I didn't mind it.

I do hope if there is a SR4 though they go back to the grittier feel (as opposed to the novelty feel) of SR2. Also need to fix the clothing customisation so you can have layers of clothes rather than outfits. Loved the gang, car and crib customisation though!

They need to bring in the customization levels of SR 2 back. SR3 was too stripped back, too slick and too short overall, even with all the side quests done.
Both were stupid fun but SR 2 had it in spades. far more fun, hope they bring it back to that level.
It feels like too quick a turn around though, unless they are trying to get it out before the PS4/720 gets released.

Far more polished, perfect level of absurdity (the opening sequence was fantastic), a decent amount of side missions, good controls and generally great mechanics all round.

A very enjoyable 30 or so hour open world game.

SR1-SR2-SR3 are all better than GTA IV.

Saints Row has been > GTA since 2006.

I agree. I liked it quite a lot.

Funny thing. I've said a few times on here I'd never played SR2. Going through some old discs in the telly cabinet the other day, I found SR2. WTF?

If you do decide to play it I don't think you'll like it more than SR3 as it's outdated now and there's no nostalgia in it for you.

Still worth trying though, great game.
