SR3 was shit. Too whacky, had no adventure feel to it at all like SR2 did. I also really missed the random obscure locations that were hidden all through SR2 that weren't there in the 3rd game.

I have low hopes for the 4th game.

Loved Saints Row 1 & 2. The third one just didn't catch on for me and now they are going more insane with the forth one.

The plot for SR4 seems a bit too OT for me. Interesting that it is only being released on the current gen consoles - the trailer footage doesn't seem to show any massive improvement in graphics or anything. Definitely has the DLC vibe to it. Love the franchise but not sure I would get this. Need more info.

Loved SR2, thought SR3 was freakin awesome as well. Can't wait for this. I for one love how over the top they are. Just love a game I can mindlessly play without taking it too seriously.

If I play an our or two of Tomb Raider, I'm exhausted because it's physically and emotionally taxing! Well maybe not exhausted, but it does get to me after a while whereas I could happily play hours of SR.

Think it was actually planned to be an expansion pack to SR3 but with THQ going under, Deep Silver (think they are the ones who acquired the rights) must be pushing to flesh this out into a fully fledged sequel. Fan of the series but the gameplay I've seen looks very dated...

Also, with GTA V on the horizon and that wowing a lot of people, not sure this is a smart move as chances are both games will be released close to each other and inevitable comparisons will happen...

Might be the first Saints Row I don't buy. I'm all for having fun in games, but I do like at least some sense of realism. All the super power thingy's don't really excite me.

In an effort to stop THQ from going under, they were the one's that decided to move it from expansion to full game.

The problem that Volition have had, is that they were doing it on a DLC's budget and not enough for a true sequel.

I think we'll see the true sequel to Saints Row once Deep Silver/Koch Media can give them a good budget and some time.

Hope you're right HBK619 - love the series and hope they can keep churning out games. Love Rockstar and GTA but even they need a bit of competition to motivate them to keep raising their game. Probably will see a lot of details come E3 - would be great if they gave the game a fresh coat of paint for the graphics IMO

Gameplay walkthrough. Dubstep gun looks pretty awesome.

I probably won't be grabbing this day one with GTA V around the corner from it, but definitely will look to pick this up when it drops in price.

Honestly don't think Rockstar see Saint's Row as competition.

Rockstar North's motivation would come from trying to top RDR. I'm pretty sure they said words to that effect in the Game Informer feature late last year.

Yeah that's true - GTA and Rockstar are just one of those games/developers that have the pressure of trying to top their last installment - they don't really need to bow to fan pressures as they will sell games regardless. Saints Row is a similar style of game (open world crime game) but in terms of status, there is a huge different in reputation and recognition for both franchises.
