St Kilda has named two new players – Jason Gram and Nick Stone – in its squad for the Wizard Home Loans Cup clash against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

Gram played two games for the Brisbane Lions in 2003, but was traded to the Saints at the end of the season after he was starved of opportunities in the Lions’ midfield.

The 19-year-old was the Lions’ first selection in the 2001 National AFL Draft.

Stone, 22, is now at his third AFL club after stints with both Collingwood – he was on its senior list for two seasons from 2000-01 – before he played 17 games in two seasons for Hawthorn from 2002-03.

He is one of two rookie list players for the Saints this season, but with the Saints having a list of 37; Stone can be elevated as a senior list player in 2004.

Adelaide has named just one new player – Ben Hudson – for the clash.

Hudson, who will turn 25 years old, next Tuesday, was drafted by the Crows in last year’s National AFL Draft after he was selected at pick No.58.

Originally, from Victoria, Hudson played senior football in the AFLQ before returning to Melbourne, where he played for Werribee in the VFL in 2003.

The 199cm ruckman had a fine season at VFL level and finished second in the club’s best and fairest.

The Crows have named a near full-strength line-up, although veteran list players Ben Hart (calf) and Nigel Smart (achilles) could not be considered, while Mark Stevens (knee) is expected to miss the entire Wizard Cup series.
