I seriously think that St Kilda will shake this thing up Saturday.

Looking at the lineups, as long as you poke a couple of guys like Dal and Montagna up the rear before the game, you should be right in it. King will absolutely smash the Hawthorn rucks (gotta still love Kingy, still gutted we gave him to you) and he is seriously one of the most talented tap ruckmen the game has ever seen. Given that you will get a lot of first use, it is just so important that a couple of your softer brigade turn up to support Lenny in the middle - hopefully Ball is in there, but you would expect with so much time out it will only be for small periods at a time.

Not sure how you will handle Hodge, but you just cannot allow him cheap possesion - so please don't mark him with a muppet like Raph Clarke. Brendan Goddard to Hodge, and let them sort it out! As for Kosi, please, just let him rome free...he has't the intelligence to play any one position, but he can be dangerous as a ruckmen following the play - could be very handy drifting back in the hole now and then to block buddy, and also you could see a couple of decent grabs in the F50. Don't make the mistake of trying to go through Riewoldt all the time (even in the Collingwood game you looked for him too much - it was just lucky that Harvey was drilling the ball to him so much, i would not expect the same from the Dawks).

Am confident that you guys will shut Roughead and Williams down, expect Buddy to kick a few, but if you can avoid trying to triple team him and hold up your structure you can hold up strong against a forwad line that (although they say is multi-tiered) is really just Franklin with a bunch of so-so forwards who benefit from buddy concious defenders. Would be nice to get Kingy back in the defensive hole too - he was quite good at this with geelong, but seems to be used differently with the Saints.

Also, hope you bring back Charlie for this game (Gardiner that is). Didn't look that bad against the Cats (should've kicked a goal or two, especially after a good grab in the 3rd). He played a cracking prelim against the Lions in 2004, and could really put pressure on a Hawthorn defense that could be suspect with Croad#s injury.

Well, should be a good game, am right behind the Saints (but only because of a soft spot for King)

Calm down sweetheart...i can rephrase that if you want, maybe i could say 'Raph Clarke, the consistentely high performing st kilda talisman that has totally justified a high draft pick and will most certainly guide you towards a near certain premiership'

Just calling a spade a spade,

I do think St Kilda will win, but they need to be uncomprimising in the way they go about it and that means not giving guys like Hodge an opponent like Clarke (not that i think that will happen!!). As for Kosi, well yes he isn't sharp enough to hold down a particular position and looks a million times better when he is roaming around following the play - again just calling it as i see it.

If you want to discuss the game solely between Hawthorn and St Kilda supporters go ahead and keep stroking each others ego's, but considering that the winner will most likely go onto play Geelong in that little game that follows the prelim, then it is probably just as interesting to gauge some sorta perspective from outside the rose coloured spectacles that you are viewing this with.

Yes, Raph Clarke is a muppet,

St Kilda will win

Somebody card this fool, i think calling one of our players a muppet TWICE should do it.

The only part of your post that made sense is Kosi - yes he looks a lot better just running wherever; CHB, ruck, CHF, FF... he does that quite well and its athletic.

Raph is a defender, Hodge is a defender. Please tell me why we would put Raph on him anyways? And FYI, Raph has had it tough, and is starting to improve and show some signs. Unfortunately, not all of us can draft half our team from the Geelong breeding program.

And yes, i do want to discuss this game with Hawks/Saints fans, because we're the ones playing. worry about your own team and stop looking to next week before this week it out.

Now, bugger off, you MUPPET

Why do other teams supporters think its OK to come onto an opposition board and think we give a shit about their opinions ?

Mate, do us a favour and stick to your own board, or the general forum.

We dont care what you think. You're the muppet.

My fellow Sainters are finally seeing the Raph Machine's ability. A month ago everyone on here would've been agreeing with the OP. Let's be consistent chaps.:)

Take your hand off it...geez have i touched a nerve here. I honestly don't give two hoots about whether or not you rate Raph - good luck to him i say, i hope he prooves me wrong and yes considering his problems of the past 5 years then more power to him.

As for who will play on Hodge, i havent got the faintest idea, i was simply stating that i hope Rosco goes with a significant other to counteract Hodge, i.e. Brendan Goddard and not some lesser light (for example a Raphael Clarke type player)....It would be interesting to hear who you would think takes this role and not whether or not you will go into cardiac arrest over assessments of your playing stocks.

Considering now Chance Bateman is doubtfull, maybe you can pluck an extra midfielder into the role..who knows, maybe Luke ball could do a job!!

Yes but everyone seems to forget if Hodge is left loose, we'll have Sam Fisher loose at the other end. He is just as capable as Hodge in that role.
