I seriously think that St Kilda will shake this thing up Saturday.
Looking at the lineups, as long as you poke a couple of guys like Dal and Montagna up the rear before the game, you should be right in it. King will absolutely smash the Hawthorn rucks (gotta still love Kingy, still gutted we gave him to you) and he is seriously one of the most talented tap ruckmen the game has ever seen. Given that you will get a lot of first use, it is just so important that a couple of your softer brigade turn up to support Lenny in the middle - hopefully Ball is in there, but you would expect with so much time out it will only be for small periods at a time.
Not sure how you will handle Hodge, but you just cannot allow him cheap possesion - so please don't mark him with a muppet like Raph Clarke. Brendan Goddard to Hodge, and let them sort it out! As for Kosi, please, just let him rome free...he has't the intelligence to play any one position, but he can be dangerous as a ruckmen following the play - could be very handy drifting back in the hole now and then to block buddy, and also you could see a couple of decent grabs in the F50. Don't make the mistake of trying to go through Riewoldt all the time (even in the Collingwood game you looked for him too much - it was just lucky that Harvey was drilling the ball to him so much, i would not expect the same from the Dawks).
Am confident that you guys will shut Roughead and Williams down, expect Buddy to kick a few, but if you can avoid trying to triple team him and hold up your structure you can hold up strong against a forwad line that (although they say is multi-tiered) is really just Franklin with a bunch of so-so forwards who benefit from buddy concious defenders. Would be nice to get Kingy back in the defensive hole too - he was quite good at this with geelong, but seems to be used differently with the Saints.
Also, hope you bring back Charlie for this game (Gardiner that is). Didn't look that bad against the Cats (should've kicked a goal or two, especially after a good grab in the 3rd). He played a cracking prelim against the Lions in 2004, and could really put pressure on a Hawthorn defense that could be suspect with Croad#s injury.
Well, should be a good game, am right behind the Saints (but only because of a soft spot for King)
