thought he looked ok in the NAB Cup and figured he would be great depth and could play a role when needed, but yesterday he was more than a role player - he was a star.

His in close work was Pendlebury like, some seriously quick hands, dodging and weaving before releasing runnesr and then alos having the courage to take them on and break the lines himself.

Great game

He is just a smart player. Does all the right things, gets to the right places, works hard and generally finishes.

I think with the calibre of players around him, he is the perfect cherry on top. He has really stepped up in the absence of Beams.

excellent point, I think having other good players around him will inevitably elevate his game, as perhaps sometimes those quick hands and little gives he was doing yesterday would have gone to teammates in the VFL who don't have the skills to gather the ones at their toes or the awareness that they're even coming.

He has excellent poise... reminds me of Pendles in his awareness of where he is in the contest. Also, he has great confidence in himself in that he takes on opposing players and relies on his evasive skills. Finally, he doesnt like to waste a disposal. He will go very short on occasions but he puts it on the chest of his team mate. He honoured a couple of leads from the forwards on Sunday and it's great to see a Collingwood midfielder kick it to advantage of the forward, rather than just sitting it on the pack. It's hard not to see him becoming a consistent footballer because there's nothing flashy about him. I like him

How good was it to finally see a pie player do this consistantly, drives me nuts that the current group simply do not get what a kick to advantage is. All game most the side will sit the ball on Clokes head 1v2 expecting miracles. He would kick a lot more goals if players learn't to kick to space or to his advantage.

Doesn't help that the captain who is meant to lead the way is the worst of all for it I guess....

I've been racking my brain trying to work out who Dwyer reminds me of and Carlton fans will hate it especially after what he did to them on the weekend but its Craig Bradley!! Watch the way he runs and finds space, the persistence he shows to stay on his feet and remain in the contest. The way he spots targets and hits them perfectly ( at all distances) this bloke has class written all over him and his intent to play for his team mates is ever-present. Decisions have to be made to keep this bloke on board because along with Pendles he is a CLASS distributor of the footy. Forwards are going to line up to lead to him. No offence to his VFL work either but I saw a bit of him there and he's already adapting to a tougher level of competition and is running harder to get to contests which shows he still has improvement in him. Lock him in now PIES.
