Gilbert is a very good half back flanker however probably not our most pressing need right now.

However would die of hapiness if StK offered him up for MJ. 10 times the player MJ is.

Any player that can get thrown forward in a GF and have a substantial impact can play the game. A lot here are severely under-rating him. He was one of keys to StK's success over the last few years.

It really gets on my nerve when people dont want a player at the club because simply as a fan you dont like him. Who cares about his off field issues. With the culture at our club at the moment he would be pulled into line by the collective group. Look at Mcphee he was always a selfish player at the dons, now he is one of our best team men.

Do I think he will fit into our side, I think so. At his best during the previous 3 seasons he was one of the best rebounding defenders in the AFL. The other thing he also brings is big game experience and at the age of 26 has time to play a part in our finals campaigns over the next 5 to 6 years.

The reality is i doubt he would leave melbourne anyway but if he did and the price was right we would be stupid not to look at him just because he made a silly mistake with a little tramp. Maybe a move to Perth could be good for him.

Given the situation that the Saints find themselves they may need, or have enforced changes at the end of the year. I am pretty sure Sam Gilbert was coming to the end of his agreement, he would be a good target for us as a key back. Might spell the end for MJ (move him the GWS?)
