you dont know anything about him yet he played for us and your asking if he would be a good fit.

lmao

Things have changed since he played for you guys though. He has changed, your team has changed. He was there and abouts when he played for Collingwood initially, but never quite cracked your team for a good run at it. I think he would if he were drafted now, or as I said, at least provide very good depth. I don't think it will happen though.

Yeah 7 games. Hes significantly improved and our list has changed since then mate, was just asking for some info and if hed fit into our line up now. So what i dont know anything about Iles no need to be a dickhead about it.

He doesn't have any real weaknesses in my opinion, the only weakness really being the fact that he is not outstanding at any one thing. He is just one of those well rounded jack of all trades types that will play the role you give him to a competent level week in week out. I probably don't know enough about your list to know where Iles would sit in your team. I personally think he could give you some solid seasons at the very least as a depth player, but if you are lacking a solid half back flanker, he could probably slot in there and do a job quite satisfactorily. He has definitely improved his game since he was last on the Collingwood list, and you could certainly do a lot worse than to pick up Iles. He is better than 70% of the kids who get drafted will ever be.

Cheers mate. Hopefully we can pick him up again. As you said he seems to offer a lot i hope he would consider coming back

of course it wont happen that boat has long sailed if we liked what we seen of Iles we would have kept him we obviously dont and nor do GC anymore his time in the AFL is up.

GC haven't based their decision on Sam Iles' merit as footballer though, the only explanation for why he was dropped is that his age is outside their premiership window, so they want to hang on to some of the younger players instead, who may or may not develop into AFL worthy players in three to five years when their window is open. Remember they had to cull their list significantly this year. Collingwood's window is open now, so a player like Iles, who has improved significantly, wouldn't be the worst option they could take. I guarantee you this, Collingwood will draft at least one player this year who won't end up anywhere near as good as Iles.
