I have a few questions about Carlton's 2006 possible father son pick.

How tall is he?
What's his speed and disposal like?
What position does he play?
Is he a footballer or athlete?
Can he find the ball?
Inside our outside player?

1. Get of ur butt and stop being lazy. there are a million threads on this, so please stop.

2. ill tell u wat u want aslong as others out there use this as thread focul point and no more carlscum (soory ahd to say that) ask this question, honestly it has been brought up a million times over.

ur name is wrong, i dont believe he is infact eligable for father son next year, and if he is, dont waste ur time yet, pick up tommi first, give sammy one more year in the system. he is 180cm, he is rather slow, but his disposal skills are class, very silky by foot. Plays wing/ centre/ hff. Definately a footballer, doesnt have a leap, isnt overly fit (reason for this, with a full preseason he will be cherry ripe) and isnt really fast but is just a natural player (i prefer this typoes anyway, u cant teach an idiot AFL footy). Good ball winning ability. However it seems he has an on and off button,,, for eg: game high 20 disposals for vic metro U16 vs W.A in game one of national U16 champs, yet only 4 handballs vs S.A. He definately worked hard that game, but there other occasions where he just doesnt seem interested. Still, he is a very dangerous player, very capable on a good day. And as for inside/ outside. he has plenty of guts, loves the hard ball, but his foot skills are so silky, a rob harvey type pace wise, but evades tackles etc etc,, way betetr skills than harvey= terry turnover. So he is very capable at both. Was also in the leadership group. Great character, nice kid, he earns the respect of his teammates and friends alike.

That's because I don't know how good Sammy is.

Cheers - and thanks for the info. ;)

Absolute deadset champion. Last night in the intra-school game he tore the field up, showeed everyone the class that will get him drafted. 46 touches in only 3 quaters, even though it was only a practice game and an intra game, it still shows he is a gun.

Outstanding effort. :thumbsu:

With all due respect to Sam...any player even remotely close to AFL standard should be cutting up a school intra game. Should be a given.

I remember watching Daniel Kerr play for Aquinas here in Perth. He kick 5-6 each week from the midfield...just running down the ground, nobody could tackle him.

They can't tackle him now, let alone back at school.

Your point being?

An unnecessary post.

I would have thought getting 46 possessions and showing skill is a sign that Sam may be good enough to play AFL. Carlton are unlucky that he isn't another brilliant key position prospect. :D

Who knows.
No he will almost certainly not get drafted this year, the main reason being probably isnt big enough yet, quick enough or strong enough, will give him another year in the system to see what he's like. And to who ever sed that he had 46 possies in a school game is a load of grabage. Only played 2 quarters cause was tired from the weekend. He played mainly half back and probably got 15 touches.
By the way they recon this years draft is the best in a while

the only problem carlton have by not taking him is that someone else might snap him up.. maybe later in the draft or you never know may be earlier..
and if carlton don't take him and he turns out to be a superstar then ud hear a lot from the supporters..
best option would be to take him father son.. nothing much too loose.

what we don't realise here is that sammy doesn't have to nominate this year- there is no rule saying if your eligable in the year of a draft you have to nominate.

Carlton have plenty of options in regard to father son. I'm sure they will be appropriately guiding sammy and the like into the best avenues of getting drafted. As a result, you'd think carlton would be telling sammy not to nominate. this is to avoid what Judda raised, and to nominate in 2007 so he is eligable to get drafted by the blues.

either way the blues have some very handy mids comming through the next 4 years.

Jake Williams (son of Greg) also got in the best for Calder this week. How many father/sons for Carlton? :D  ;)

Too slow and his kicking isnt up to scratch, if he cant play good consistant football for Haileybury there is no AFL future for this Kid, we will be seeing him playing in local leagues.
