Yep agree!!! I hope our new coach can take a leaf out of Alistair Clarkson's book, NO RECYCLED PLAYERS!!!
yeah because guerra, jacobs, everitt were definately not recycled players....
Jacobs and Everitt were recruited by Schwab, not Clarkson.
Guerra and Gilham have previously played games for other clubs before coming to Hawthorn.
FWIW, I'd think Essendon (like Hawthorn) would be better off looking at drafting a kid than punting on Sampi.
We have heaps of kids and I for one don't wanna wait around for another 4 years untill they mature and become regular players.
We need to bring in and add to our list a couple of experienced players next year from somewhere......where's the Leon Bakers of the modern game?![]()
History shows that (except for season 1993) you can't afford to sit around and wait for your youngsters to bloom at once. Campo was a gamble...I want the EFC to gamble again. We can afford it!

Here here Nobby.
I don't want to sit and wait years and years to become a good side again. Once you start planning for years in advance next thing you know 10 years have gone by with no success.
Gilham, Guerra - Hawthorn
Rodan - Port
Richards, Everitt, Hall, Davis - Sydney
Just a few that have had success at recruiting recently.
A bit of topic but...
That's all the more reason to hang on to Monfries and not look at trading him for a first round pick to pick up up a key defender.
I'm of the thinking that Monfries scope for improvement won't be sufficient enough for us to become a good side again.
I'd rather take a punt on Jason Cloke to tell you the truth. If we were looking at trading, I'd think we would be after a midfielder, not yet another small forward.
Don't particularly want Sampi but would much prefer him to Cloke. At least he has shown he has the ability to play at AFL level if he can get his head right. Cloke is clearly not up to it, good VFL player but can't go to the next level.
Cloke's performances at AFL level would equal Sampi's imho. The difference between them is that only Cloke has looked like he wants to play AFL.
