think its a bit much asking him to play loose man in defence. i dont know why we dont just let our players use their strengths and get someone like michael johnson to do it instead...
 
Yep, terrible quarter by the big fella. But he wasn't alone, Jonno, Gilmore, Thornton are all under pressure.

Macca's disposal is up to his normal standards.

Mundy's been good.

Go easy. I think they are giving it a crack and showing a bit of ticker across the board. If they can keep up this pressure then we are in with a chance. They are causing Adelaide to make errors. Can we hit a forward and can we keep it up for four quarters? That will determine the result. 3 or 4 goals on the line touched. Palmer marked one of them too.

Notice around the stoppages we hit forward and this plays in to Adelaides hands coz they have all of their players back. We should play man on man at the stoppages I reckon coz we are one of the worst in the competition.
 
Geez, you've got it in for Sandi there. He's pretty much been involved a lot more than a couple of the other players. I'm pretty sure we can say that my daughter knows more about the game than the commentators. She makes more sense, even though I can't understand a word she says.
 
WAy way way too harsh on the big fella. Definately winning his position. Pity he doesnt have a midfielder worth squat surrounding him. Though i like the look of Hinkley, Palmer, Ibbotson, throw in Smith, Foster, Mayne and thats a new onball brigade starting to emerge.
 
Sandilands and Palmer were our two best today. Some people reckon 211 can't tap to advantage, well he rammed a few down the throats of Palmer and McManus today. Additionally, he roved his own tap a few times and obliterated a few into space so I hope that will shut his knockers up for at least another week.

That was one of the best games ive seen from sandilands tap wise he was putting it in the right spots an the midfielders were getting clean clearances especially in that final quarter.

Amazing how good a team can look when they get clean clearances from centre square an get it straight into the forward 50 with no messing around pretty simple game footy doesnt need to be over complicated with so many set plays.

One thing i didnt like is early in the game sandilands decided to smash it forward it went all the way from centre to inside our forward 50 before being swooped on by adelaide defenders.
Where was our CHF an forwards there should always be atleast 1 person in that area ready for a quick kick from centre square or like in this case a huge ruck knock.
 
An early call, and a poor one by the OP.

Sandi was very good today - one of his best games tap wise for a long time. He was hitting it to advantage, and we actually did ok in the clearances. Dare I say it, we were dangerous at times at the stoppages:thumbsu:

His around the ground work still needs improving, but he's never gonna be a running style ruckman ala Jim Stynes is he?


Edit: I wish he'd taken the shot on goal instead of passing off to Mundy
 
It was good to see Sandi just thumping it sometimes, t gave us a 50/50 chance. We improved so much as the game went on.

I am happy with that performance.

His marking has improved so much. I used to cringe everytime the ball would go in his direction. Now I can pick up a cup of tea without spilling a drop. :thumbsu:

Spot on Lach. Anybody who bags Sandi after that game doesn't know jack. He's never going to be a gazelle around the ground, but for his capability, I think it was right up there. His taps seemed more controlled and he worked hard even when the ball went to ground and his tendency is to watch from his birds eye view as the little short people run around. He tapped well, worked hard and showed reasonable skills most of the time. Big big improvement on last week and close to best game of the season.

For the record, ABC radio commentators rated him third best of Dockers players. (Palmer was 1st I think, don't remember 2nd).

Sadly he could have done with al ittle help from his more expereinced team mates in the last q.
 
Sorry, he's been around in the system for a while now, and at 500k a year so he's just as big a scapegoat as Tarrant. Both can't kick a goal, or maybe one in a month, and both don't tackle or turn on a pivot.
Lost Again, its because players on 400k/500k a year get away with being shit.

And he's way better value than both Sandilands and Tarrant.
 
Seriously, get ____ed. The guy is a champion. He'll one day be named All Australian ruckman. I remember the day when he would get an average of 5 possessions a game. Now, he's linking play, and influencing clearances. Hell i think he got the first clearance of the game and banged it forward to Michael Johnson.

He's taken the odd contested mark this season too. His endurance is exceptional for someone who is 211cm and its improving each season (bar last where he was injured).

Looking towards the future, he's an absolute necessity in our team moving forward. If we can get a midfield capable of making use of his good tap work we'll be a lot closer to premiership glory.

Don't forget he's always stepped up during finals. Its the players that step up when the heat is on that will make Fremantle great, not chumps who can't take the fire.
