To those that lambasted me for suggesting the new CEO would have had NO input into the BOARD"S decision to sack Sando...you know who you are, well Fox Sports reporting both Roo and Fagan have come out this morning and stated and gone to great lengths to explain that the CEO had absolutely nothing to do with this decision, none, nada...his total involvement was that he was TOLD of the board's decision. The decision was already made before his appointment!

Fox also reporting as has been mentioned on here the senior players reviews played a big part in the decision, all fine and good but one thing that has done is clearly put the onus on the players to produce now they have led to Sando's sacking. Now we will find out if indeed the playing group DO have character, the ball is in their court now!

I also remember Roo pointing this out ...

This reminds me of a similar post earlier this year on the difference between Port saying to a new player essentially "we're really pleased to have you here" and the Crows saying "you're lucky to have come to such a great club"

Said it before, I'll say it again: it's all about leadership. Drives relationships which drive culture which drives expectations which drive performance

Right people in the right chairs indeed

So now they are saying it's a PR disaster. Why is it that nobody within here seems to see it like that?
Because we are thinking beyond today and this week to the long term future of our club. The media are reactionary and shallow.

All these people ringing in to 5aa moaning about the bad decision!! Where are the level headed thinkers who believe it was the right decision? Are they being censored? Nothing like doom and gloom to get ratings rising!

Lots of players under Vossy said the same thing.
Wow, I'm honestly surprised by that. Thought coaches would consider that as part of player management. Like I understand you can't spend an hour a week sitting down with every bloke in the team, but surely you can spend 5-10 minutes to make sure you catch up with every player?

Yes, it surprised me too.

There is a big difference between a player revolt, and asking for honest opinions from players at seasons end.

Depends what ultimatums were delivered as part of the "opinions".

The word over here is that some of the leaders made some "he goes or else" statements. Including one guy wearing #32.

Not sure if true or not but hey perception is reality sometimes.

I hope everyone reads this post before they go on about how unlucky Sando was, draft sanctions, Tippett, Bailey blah blah! This is what Sanderson could control.

+ 1. I also hope they read what Ross Lyon said following their loss to Port - something along the lines of there would be no need for player exit interviews before the break because he meets with every player every week and know where they stand etc.

That was my post. I heard two conversations with draftees. One was Keith Thomas and one was Trigg.
One was excellent and one was appalling and ego driven. I bet you can guess which was which!

The last two days are the best in the history of the Crows. I'm over the Moon that we have finally recognised that change was required.
You can be certain of this - the bear has been poked too many times, is awake and is very very hungry.

Chapman says he doesn't think board members will step down over this decision. He seems to be referring about them firing Sando and not because they just extended him and fired him.
